It's actually confirmed, I was alerted by the airline via text they moved the flight to an A380 and it's public in articles now as well.
So far it is just a rumour that Norwegian might lease HiFly's A380 at some point. Little Internet browsing reveals that the first HiFly A380 customer was Thomas Cook Scandinavia for one off charter to replace a broken A321 on CPH-LCA route and the next customer for this plane looks to be Air Austral on CDG-RUN route.

Well, that's one way for Norwegian to speed up their economical problems...
I'm pretty sure that Norwegian's cost for wet leasing an A380 surpasses their forecasted cost to operate the route themselves with a 787, and they won't get any additional revenue if the switch was made late and they can't sell the additional seat capacity.

Long time FlyerTalk reader but first time posting. Many thanks to all for the expert insights that has made my travels much more enjoyable!
Asking on behalf of a friend who was on Norwegian Air flight DI7015 yesterday which was swapped to the Hi-Fly A380 recently discussed above. Notification was sent out in the AM that the flight was going to be delayed by 4 hours. It arrived at destination 3 hours and 21 minutes late according to Flightaware. Would this delay qualify for EU261 compensation? If so, any recommendations on the best course of action to follow? Any advice much appreciated!

We have been advised today that our flight will be departing at 21:00hrs unstead of 17:05, really annoying, as it arrives at midnight now. Only alternative is a six am departure, on the currently jnreliable dreamliner..... what to do?!
Not a happy bunny.

Actual arrival time counts for compensation, but if they announced a five hour delay you have the right to cancel your booking for a full refund so you can book something else.

I'm also wondering what these A380 flights are like. While I'm not planning to join the mile high club, I do want a suite. I know they are supposedly assigning them randomly, but i'm curious if anyone has had experience checking in and if its possible to obtain one by asking. I'm currently booked in PE for departure on the 9th and returning the 13th of this month.
I'd love to hear from anyone who has been on board.
DY has changed the timing on these flights. They were running on average about 4 hours late each way, with not enough time on the ground in between to make it up, so they have finally just adjusted the times. Looking at their web site right now, the flights don't show up for my travel dates, but the following is available for purchase. $1775 for a lie flat bed and possible suite is pretty enticing. New York-JFK - London-GatwickFriday 17. Aug 2018 03:00
