Question Credit Balance on Chase Card - Can I Use "balance transfer" against a credit balance?

I have a -$500 credit balance in one chase card.

Instead of calling to ask them to send me a check, I saw they have an option for "balance transfer" at 0% APR for few months.

I don't need a traditional balance transfer or even care about 0% APR -- I am looking to do this soley to avoid the hassle of calling to have them send me a check or waiting for a secure message to process.

If I put in the card number of another chase card in my profile that does have a balance, will this work?

Or does Chase not allow me to transfer the balance online because the account I want to currently use has a credit balance?

Anybody have experience with this?

Thanks

Never do that. It does not work like this and you will be get into a serious mess of fees.

If you have a credit balance and want to transfer to another Chase card, simply call or SM.

To start with, most balance transfers, even with a special offer, have a fee (usually 2-4% of the amount). There are two costs to a balance transfer - the initial fee and then the APR. The APR is often 0% as a special offer, but it's extremely rare to get 0% fee and 0% APR (except on some new account offers).

In this case, the APR is moot as OP simply gets the credit balance back.

So only the BT fee is involved.

Most banks won't do a "balance transfer" from one of their own accounts, anyway.
