So are these dedicated counters in the business check-in area or just priority lines in the Y areas?
Interesting that they decided to put PY as part of the J check-in. I would have put that group in the P25K/E35K/credit card group.
Customers who are eligible for Priority Check-in (including our Altitude Elite 35K and Prestige 25K members, as well as select credit card holders) may use new dedicated Priority Check-in counters located in aisle 3 for domestic flights and aisle 5 for international flights.

Now they're only managing it for *G, PY, and J.
I could actually see this being an improvement for everyone.
The priority area now has fewer people.
And P25K/E35K get to use the massive number of agents in economy check-in, but with priority.

YYZ is the only airport I've ever seen "manage" anything related to priority check-in.

at YVR takes 15 mins. I expect AC to put in limited amount of dedicated counters that there could be the possibility of a longer line for those who flies Y and those E35K,E50K.
The only benefits its seems to have is maybe lower E50K+ plus wait for what, 2 minutes?
Well i am flying out of YYZ in FEB so will not trash their decision any more until using the service first hand.
But the fact they put PE in and kick E35K out really bugs me.

Have you actually used normal economy check in at YVR or YYZ, its 20 minute wait easily. As opposed to five mins (aka old priority I guess) when I travel with people with status. Heck, even a baggage drop

The Altitude site still shows "Priority Airport Check-In - Check-in at the Air Canada Business Class counters when traveling on flights operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Express and Air Canada rouge..." for all levels of Altitude. How are they pulling this one off?

I just read the media release and it doesn't identify this as only for Domestic/Int'l.
Does this check-in also serve Transborder at YYZ?
(Based on what I've read here about the move of security/bag-drop before preclearance, maybe that becomes feasible?)
Oh -- I read the link within the link and it does say domestic/int'l unless travelling to U.S. without checked bag.

Air Canada also plans to enhance Priority check-in for customers in Vancouver, Montreal and Calgary. In addition to Business Class Check-in, Air Canada has recently introduced a series of innovations for Premium customers. This includes refurbished Maple Leaf Lounges, a partnership with renowned Canadian chef David Hawksworth to style meals for International Business Class and the Maple Leaf Lounges, enhanced check-in and boarding procedures, new cabin interiors on our wide-body fleet, including next generation lie-flat suites in International Business Class and a designated Premium Economy cabin, and a refined Altitude frequent flyer program.
Refined and innovations are new words for enhanced/enhancements?

Some Pictures
Yes, I took pictures. The world is ending.

You might think I'm missing stuff, but not really. That seating area and the walls are basically the new stuff. It is still a bit sterile, but a totally exclusive feeling.
The only "thing" that I can note is that the exit at the back is not manned, so anyone could simply walk around the back and enter from there.
Overall though, this S100K 2MM likes this.
