Yes, if United was willing to sell you the ticket then you are OK with MCT.

It depends on the airport and the airlines / terminals involved. Sometime MCT is available on the airport's web site, otherwise it is available from paid services like ExpertFlyer, KVS, .... For many airports there are threads on FT with the info --- search "MCT"+connections+"XYZ" where XYZ is the airport code

Normally you don't need to worry because booked connections will meet the MCT. Only if you go independent and book separate tickets do you need to be concerned and need the specialized tools.
Going independent also exposes you to risk if there are flight delays because no airline owns the issue to get you to you destination if there are delays.

Earning MP miles on SQ flight?

I booked a two segment flight on SQ via UA website, in order to get PQD, etc on my MileagePlus account.
BKK-SIN-JNB-CPT in C class
But, now the UA website on my itinerary page says that only the BKK-SIN segment is eligible for PQD, PQM, and mileage accrual! How is this true?

The pre-flight info can be wrong , see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unite...t-removed.html

C fare is clearly mileage earning, for other fare classes on SQ check https://www.united.com/CMS/en-US/mar...spx?ItemId=304

Thanks... I'm on SQ metal the whole itinerary, though. Also, just noticed that my e-ticket shows all segments getting accrual.

Thanks again.
Datapoint/follow-up FWIW. Learned yesterday that I really should be home much earlier than originally ticketed. Looked at on line “Change Flights” and 2 were available for $1 fare difference + $200 Change Fee. Called UA, agent could see that same flights for zero fare difference + $200 Change Fee. I asked about a waiver of the Change Fee, agent said she did not have that authority, did I want her to speak with a supervisor, I said “yes, please.” Agent returns 3-4 minutes later stating the supervisor said okay. Earlier flights confirmed, no additional charge of any kind. Every once in a while UA does something that actually is customer friendly. ^

Never hurts to ask, the worst they can do is say “no”.

Credit for LH trains

Does anyone have recent experience on whether I will get miles (award miles and PQM under MileagePlus) for a train ride under a LH flight number (e.g. CGN-FRA or FRA-ZWS)?

Thanks in advance,

HTB.

Say I book this itinerary on United…

As you can see, all flights are actually operated by American. Seems like UA is actually fine booking this on 016 stock and it's pricing out a very reasonable N fare ($600 round trip).

Question: Will I earn any UA PQM / PQD / RDM for booking this?

I have a flight from MXP to ORL, through EWR, that I waitlisted for business saver award and was assigned a seat in economy for both segments. Today, when I got an email that the MXP to EWR upgraded, I realized that the EWR to ORL segment was not wait listed for a business saver. The ticket price was 57,500 miles. The EWR to MCO flight is a domestic flight with only two cabins. Should I have been waitlisted for that segment as well and if so can I just call and ask for it to changed?

No earnings of any kind. Only on flights operated by a UA partner, which AA is not.

They will not waitlist you unless you request it. You can call now and ask to be waitlisted (or confirmed, if there is I space).

I tried the search, but didn't find any relevant post.

We have a 6.30 am flight out of FLL to EWR. Is it possible to check in the baggage the evening before so we don't have to be there so early?

Generally no -- between space issues and liability, UA (and other airlines I am aware of) limit the time prior to departure for when they will accept bags -- generally 3-4 hours prior to departure.

Thank you for your answer. Follow up question that I probably could look up at UA website How early should we be at the airport for the 6.30am flight? 5am?

My fare class ended up being coded as a T fare and I only got 50% PQM which is a bit disaponting because when I booked my tickets I got an email indicating that I would get 100%

TSA recommends 90 minutes before the flight for domestic.
