No biggie, it's a big development-- and a piece of info people have ben most anxious to get their hands on, not surprising that people see it in "waves" as it were.

Anticipation of what? The routes that were mentioned the last couple of days are indeed the first international routes these planes will fly. We are only waiting for confirmation on specific dates and that will take a few more days.

I woulda though that **possibly** jeffreyt was being sarcastic/humorous/parodying and/or was referring to something (in or about this thread or otherwise) -other- than the actual announcement of the actual routes. Just my guess though.

JonNYC: I thought you post on April 20, number 6 in this thread indicated that the first 787 flights would be to Paris. Is this not so?

In no way do I say that in post #6-- I only pointed put that the OP's intel was lifted straight from a post on airliners.net. I didn't state it was accurate in any way. Check out post #12, BTW.

Thanks JonNYC. We were planning to go to Paris this fall and were looking forward to AA's 787. It is hard to identify what is speculation and what is AA policy in this thread. Look forward to officially hearing where the 787s will first be going.

Uh? You're no longer planning to go to Paris because AA may not be flying the 788 there?

We will be going even if it again is on an AA 757. I have not been on the 787 yet, as my first booked 787 flight on JL from HND to Taiwan was pulled from service about 2 years ago.

AAs 2nd 787, N801AC had her first flight yesterday, Monday Feb 9 according to the Puget Sound Boeing test flights web site. It took Boeing 17 days to get the first 787 to AA after her first flight on Tuesday January 7, as she arrived on Friday Januyary 23.
