ARCHIVE: AA (internally) announces first Boeing 787-8 / B788 route

The first operation of a B788 will be on flight AA44, JFK-CDG, in January. Flight deck crews will begin training next month.

I personally do expect to see some domestic flying with the ships, perhaps JFK-MIA.

No mystery as to the "source" of this, info came from right here:

The JFK (LGA) pilot base is being trained first, with training beginning May/June. JFK pilots have been told the first 787 route will be JFK-CDG in Jan 2015.
Of course it's nice to attribute when clipping info directly from other sites.

what route would only be serviceable via a 788 and not any other plane in the fleet?

Shakedown cruise. Get pilots and cabin crew familiar with the new type. While the 767s are still in the fleet there's no need to rush the 787s.

UA did the same thing, I snagged J on the 788 ORD-IAH a few times.

do you think EZE (in any AA route (JFK,3xMIA,DFW)) will get a 788?

EDIT: it's 3x MIA routes every day..

Probably not given both the passenger and cargo demand to EZE. Maybe DFW-EZE in the off season. But probably not. I'd think EZE would be more ripe for a 77W given the actual demand for F (only route I've ever had a J to F upgrade not clear on despite being requested 9 months out).

It's not what I do not understand, it's what I do not believe.

Source was that airliners.net post: http://www.airliners.net/aviation-fo...ain/6058218/#8

3x3x3 in the Main Cabin. I personally expect 2x4x2 in MCE, and the same J seats as on the new configuration on the B772.

I would place the odds of 2-3-2 in MCE at about zero. Maybe 2-4-2, but not a chance of 2-3-2. More likely, MCE will be the same 3-3-3.

My mistake, I meant 2-4-2. However, as you said, they may go the B763 way, and keep the layout the same as in the Main Cabin. Do you know how many J seats are planned?
