We'll be going on a road trip through the Balkans this July (Bosnia & Herz., Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro and Croatia).
We will spend 3 nights at Aman Sveti Stefan (Deluxe Seaview Cottage with Terrace) and perhaps Aman Cavtat if it's open by then. Hotel Vestibul Palace (Luxury Suite) in Split is another nice one, although not true luxury.
Not many other luxury properties to speak of... suggestions welcome!
December 2014: Greystoke Mahale (Tanzania) and Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge (Rwanda), followed by Mount Nelson in Cape Town(?)
Any recommendations for accommodations in Arusha, btw? Rivertrees is booked full, so we currently have reservations at Twiga Lodge.

When you stay at Alila Soori, make sure you ask for the most indulgent service. I made the mistake of asking for the service below that and rarely saw the butler but at Uluwatu the lady who met me chatted to me and told me the level of service appropriate for me and my butler was amazing.

I think it may have been upon check-in or could even be a pre-arrival dossier. Mention it to them if they forget to ask you. Do not make the mistake of asking for discreet service (like I did) at Soori or you'll be left alone!

indicate our preferences (music, pillows, level of attention by the butler, etc) prior to check in... http://www.ppm.alilahotels.com/uluwatu [or /soori]

I have never seen something like this before, at least. Have been asked to fill in a form a couple of times, but this has been mainly about minibar content and not something I have done. Mainly I just write an email about preferences or talk to this, but this electronic book was just so nice and informatice that it is a pleasure to fill in.
If you choose Alila you must opt for the indulgent/pampering service as opposed to discreet. I stayed at both Soori and Uluwatu and the service was chalk and cheese. The Uluwatu PR lady chatted to me and decided that pampering was for me and the service was simply amazing. In Soori my butler was quite invisible.

Just for the record since i was quoted in this thread: we cancelled our reservation at alila uluwatu and stayed at amans instead. The electronic guest preference book was nice, but no idea about the rest since we did not stay.
