I agree, I pretty much rescinded my statement after I made that post. Seen here:
Basically I felt like spending $1500 was a lot just for Mlife Pearl. Now I can mattress run for $250 for MLife Gold so I just got excited. I don't gamble so all my spend was from entertainment/dining at Mlife so I felt I was getting very little in return. But not anymore....

My information came from as High up the chain of command at Gold Passport without going to Chicago.
There are still conflicting opinions in both camps when calling the call centers GP or M Life due to agent errors more than I care to repeat or want to remember
SIGH
Tomorrow I will be in touch with M life folks again but higher ups and see if they agree or disagree with everything I shared today
At least for tonight I am sticking with my story
Let us not forget these experienced folks you spoke with made mistakes with me tonight so while they get many aspects of their program
they are still learning to dance with their new Hyatt relationship
Stay Tuned my friends

Re: the repeatable status matching - has anyone seen anything about a status match the other way (MLife Plat/Noir to HGP Plat)? All the posts I've seen are only about going from HGP to MLife (yes, I know I'm in the Hyatt forum, but us MLifers don't have our own forum...
)
)Noir/Platinum/Gold = Hyatt Platinum
Pearl/Sapphire = Hyatt Gold

Maybe because Hyatt didn't have a good enough property in Vegas until now?

Hi! I'm willing to pay for 2 nights for anyone at Excalibur/Luxor in the nearest 7 days, as I need 2 nights to extend diamond status. Please pm me if anyone is interested.

If it's been updated on the Mlofe website, my apologies - I haven't been near a computer since yesterday morning and my phone browser hates that particular site.

The FAQ on hyatt.com used to say that HGP members would get an email in August to opt in for an Mlife tier. I don't see that wording anymore...it looks like you have to do it in person at an Mlife desk in Vegas, right?
My Hyatt Diamond expires this month (Diamond challenge), but I'm going to Vegas next month...
At least I have the Hyatt credit card = Mlife Gold.

Be careful, you may want to delete this post. I was about to offer many free nights on FT as well as im doing a mattress run but I wanted to ask a moderator first and was told it's not allowed, even on PM. Just try to contact all your friends/family for the free nights...

Hyatt and MGM Resorts update
Dear Flyer Talk Community,
A huge thank you for your enthusiasm about our new relationship with M life! We look forward to continuing to help you reap the benefits. Given some back and forth around a few topics on this forum, we wanted to jump in and help clarify a few things:
Earning potential When staying at a Hyatt hotel or resort, you will need to choose either Hyatt Gold Passport points or M life Tier Credits for your stay. In order to earn M life Tier Credits at participating Hyatt hotels and resorts, you must be a member of both M life and Hyatt Gold Passport. Guests cannot earn both Hyatt Gold Passport points and M life Tier Credits for a Hyatt stay. When staying at a participating M life resort, guests may earn both Hyatt Gold Passport points and M life Tier Credits, provided they are a member of both programs.
Tier match timing and details The big day is coming later this month when Hyatt Gold Passport members will have the opportunity to opt-in for a matched tier in M life! Hyatt Gold Passport members will receive an email with information about how to opt-in for a matched M life tier level. Conversely, M life members will be eligible to opt-in for a matched tier in Hyatt Gold Passport. Additional information is available in our Frequently Asked Questions, and full details will be posted on hyatt.com when members are able to opt-in for a matched tier.
We would also like to take this time to thank you for your patience as we work through the early stages of this relationship. As with anything new, there are always opportunities to improve, and we thank you for your valuable feedback that helps shape our program.
Warm regards and safe travels!
Dana M.

From an M life manager in Las Vegas as per our discussion
Members must make a choice when staying at Hyatt properties between which program to earn in
At MGM participating properties in Las Vegas they may earn in both programs
This is in keeping with the published/shared communication from Hyatt (Hat tip to SFOcrew)
Members must be enrolled in both programs
Misinformation at all call centers
Do I hear coaching/training opportunities?
Hyatt Agents have routinely and repeatedly stated its always one or the other program one can earn in....... in all properties.
WRONG be nice but don't listen to them
M Life Agents have repeatedly stated including till up to late last night all properties both Hyatt and MGM properties member enrolled in both programs may earn in both programs
Wrong be nice but don't listen to them
Hopefully both programs will send internal memos and get up to speed!
This has been time consuming for all parties!

If indeed members will be able to opt in through an email it will be one of two ways for members to status match we will assume.
Through the upcoming email opt in or in person at a Players Desk in a casino Hotel in Las Vegas
Cheers

Choosing M Life or Hyatt Gold Passport at a Hyatt property
As I stated previously all there would be absolutely no reason for an M life Platinum to earn at a Hyatt Hotel in the MLife program to earn tier credits
You would obtain NOTHING
On the other had if you were a Gold Member wanting to reach Platinum in M Life as an example maybe but then again a big maybe

I haven't seen it anywhere but can we make a brg claim with a hyatt rep for a stay in an mlife hotel? What are the rules for that? Sorry if this has already been asked, I've had conflicting answers by phone reps
