Actually, they didn't say they'd post six weeks after, they said "within six weeks". There was no requirement to wait six weeks. The promo started July 7. Anybody who signed up July 7 would hit the 90 day mark October 6. So they could have started posting October 6. They already cut themselves 30 business days of slack (the "within six weeks" after members satisfied the promo requirements. That 30 days of slack would have ended Nov. 17.

Now, they have cut themselves an additional 5 or 6 business days of slack, and still haven't completed posting what they promised. I have 500 out of 2500. Mrs. Gemac has 500 out of 3000.

I'm not complaining yet, but it would be nice if they continued posting until all miles owed are posted in the next couple of days. There is a critical difference between miles like this posted before December 1 and those posted after that date.

Talked to AAdvantage CS today. They said ALL the miles for the Appraiser promotion have been posted. There won't be an additional posting. In many cases, the Appraiser promotion might have promised you more miles even though you weren't eligible because you were subscribed under a different email address but same AAdvantage account number. I was promised 2,000 and I received 500. And they wouldn't credit me any additional miles.

Question

Did any non-targeted people get the miles?

I (the OP) was targeted and got 1000 miles today (thought it was supposed to be 1500, but whatever), but my dad and other family members (not targeted AFAIK) did not get any miles.

Just wondering.

I can't keep track of the amount of miles I was promised so I can't really complaint.

Correct, which means that if they didn't post by the fifth week and sixth day, they weren't breaking their promise. Once Thanksgiving passed, they were late. Giving two more business days after a holiday to a bankrupt company that gave away $40+ worth of miles (to most people) for merely deleting a few emails over a few months is not exactly putting you out. Complaining, on the other hand, will only decrease the likelihood they will make such generous offers in the future. I simply don't get the entitlement mentality.

In my humble opinion, promising something and then giving something different, or less, is simply UN-AMERICAN!

American - Thanks for making me wait forever to get half my chickens. I will not be flying YOU at all.

Sorry, but this is laughable! Are you seriously saying that you're going to boycott an airline because they didn't give you a few free miles?? (it's not even that many!). Not sure where you fly from but, if AA is a cheaper option for you and now you refuse to fly them, I think you're turning yourself into way bigger loser (monetarily) than you are now.

As for all this being "un-American"....way to make a mountain out of a molehill....

I'm personally boycotting American and moving to Canada due to this outrage!

Yes. That is what I am saying. The reason that I can do this is because there are tons of other options with whom to fly.

They could have promised me 1,000,000,000 free miles and then simply given me the 1500 -- because it would have netted them the exact same result. I will no longer fly American Airlines. I still believe in keeping promises, ideals, and principles. But again, that's just me.

I got 500 out of 3000.

My wife got 2500 out of 3000. Each mailing list subscription is being itemized separately. Still, I signed both of us up for the same lists on the exact same day, so... can't say I understand what's going on. Here's how the miles posted to her account:

11/28/11 EMAIL ACQUISITION - AAIRMAL 0 500 500
11/28/11 EMAIL ACQUISITION - NETSAAVERS 0 500 500
11/28/11 AA VACATIONS OPT IN BONUS 0 500 500
11/28/11 ESUMMARY OPTIN BONUS 0 500 500
11/28/11 PROMOTIONS OPTIN BONUS 0 500 500
I sure am happy I can turn off all the spam now though.

Actually, I'd like to suggest this is, in fact, completely American. Just ask the federal government!

First of all, unless I missed something while flying to HKG, AA is not bankrupt.

And I know some of you are joking, but some of the reactions are a bit Veruca Saltish.
