And for upgrades, as every room is already classed as a suite they could just give a one-level upgrade for both Amb and RA.

In several places the Ambassador information pages have variations on "...delivers benefits exclusively at InterContinental Hotels and Resorts properties..."
There is a small distinction in that the the V/P are each listed as "An Intercontinental ALLIANCE resort" so strictly speaking they aren't IC Properties, just "aligned" with them. Hopefully, IHG and V/P have worked this out and the person who another poster heard from at the V/P just isn't in the loop. But, I continue to suspect we won't fully know until the first few people show up at the property.
To the question about the lack of a disclaimed saying that benefits will be denied, there is also no explicit statment that full benefits WILL apply.

IC brand property it is expected to offer all Ambassador benefits.If they do is another story

Planet Hollywood was very good offering benefits as an alliance property under the SPG partnership in the years the relationship lasted.
Suites and late checkout were consistent.
I am hoping this will be the new go to property now that the Westin Las Vegas has denied suite upgrades to Platinum members and
started demanding resort fees without being a resort.

I am trying to book Sweet Dillemma nights at the Pal/Ven for May. Not one night is open. Did they ever open it up, or is it booked?

just a gut feeling I had nothing scientific... possibly even based on a unacknowledged desire to try somewhere new - but I thought it worthwhile pointing out that there were other places you could use your IHG points too incase some people hadn't noticed.

As of right now (before the April 1st official start date) the fact that you can't use an Ambassador weekend BOGO certificate might be an indicator that not all Ambassador/Royal Ambassador benefits will carry over to V/P.
Guess we're in a wait and see until people start reporting their actual experiences.

It’s been clear from the start that the Venetian and its sister property is not an InterContinental hotel nor will it be recognized as one now or in the coming future. It’s its own individual brand cooperating with IHG/PC.
Think of it as an example Planet Hollywood previously allowing redemption of a free night through a W/Hotel promotion.
The brand Planet Hollywood is its own individual brand cooperating in the SPG program and offering full in house benefits.
Again two different brands sharing the same program
The Venetian is a Partner Alliance hotel that can be booked through the IC website and if all goes as promised or well one will able to redeem, earn points and get the regular in house Ambassador benefits as typically expected.
Perhaps and that’s a big perhaps
that could change if the partnership is successful and they seek to honor all IC/PC based promotions/vouchers I think that part is too early to predict and somewhat unlikely having watched these partnership properties that are their own brand within the framework of other similar guest programs.At best I believe we are going to have good redemption,points earned on quailfying stays,stay credit
and the in house recognition that many of us appreciate in the IC family of hotels that really get Ambassador recognition right

But the Aladin alka Planet Hollywood was operated as a normal SPG hotels. It was not under one of the chain brands of Starwood Coporation but there are quite a few of tbese within the programme. I believe these comparisms are futiile. Currently it is all speculations and in a few days we will know more.

Conversation with Venetian Reservations and Ambassador Services
(Sorry for long post)
I'm glad to read (most of) the previous posts- (why oh why did I forget to check FT?????????)
After hearing this past weekend that both the Venetian and Palazzo were "becoming Intercontinental-allied properties), I switched our mid-May reservations from THEhotel to the Venetian (originally booked through 3rd-party- Vegas.com- to use Costco gift certificates). After doing so, was told by ICH to call Venetian and attach Amb number to reservation.
When I called them, and requested was put on hold for 4- 5 minutes. Agent said that they would cetainly attach the number but that there were no Ambassador provileges. And said she had checked with management to make sure this was accurate.
So, I called Ambassador help-line and was told that benefits were indeed forthcoming and that this must be a communication/ training issue for the Venetian.
I rec'd email this morning from ICH: "We would like to inform you that this matter has been forwarded to the managers of the Ambassador program, in order to confirm if the Ambassador benefits should apply on your reservation at the The Venetian. Rest assured that you will be updated accordingly regarding this matter."
Wha....?

I think we are all well aware that all in house Ambassador benefits will apply
The question appears to be what an upgrade will consist of
In Planet Hollywood in a similar relationship as a partner hotel of SPG
were very suite compliant ^ Ambassador and Royal Ambassador simply say the word upgrade.
This will be the true stregnth of the partnership in my own view..........

Actually the exact wording on the PC Membership Terms & Conditions are:
InterContinental Ambassador Benefits: InterContinental Ambassador Benefits. Upgrades to a Superior room will be assigned at check-in. A room one category higher than purchased will be assigned to InterContinental Ambassadors.
Royal Ambassador Status: Upgrade to an executive room, Club InterContinental room or a suite for Royal Ambassadors at check-in.

ok...had a lengthy chat with a very nice woman at the palazzo who had just done some training regarding Amb and RA benefits. She read these benefits to me directly from some internal source (Although she had to refer to her manager a few times to confirm some questions)
The benefits for an RA are (as confirmed by palazzo)
* Guaranteed room upgrade - They will upgrade from a standard 720 suite to either the 900 ft fortuna or the 1300ft sienna...whichever is available. Upgrades will NOT be to Prestige level. There is a $100 supplement (can be more dependant on what room type) for Prestige level.
* VIP Check In
* 8am Check In
* 4pm late checkout (Apparently this is not guaranteed but on availability. She checked this with the manager and he confirmed it was on availability although she did go on to say that this shouldn't be a problem and they will honour it pretty much every time)
* Fresh fruit on arrival
* 24 hour room guarantee
* Complimentary minibar
* Complimentary in room internet
* Complimentary movie
* In room welcome letter from the GM
* Complimentary newspaper
* Comp access to the Canyon Spa Ranch
* Free local phone calls
All in all pretty much everything you would expect but sadly no Prestige lounge access.

And it is 2000 pt per stay as for IC - that's unfortunate given the ease of significant incidental spending in LAS.
