Any Paris Michelin Restaurants open in August?

sorry to put a dining-only related post - going to be in Paris for a weekend and most of the restaurants are closed for august, I searched for a few but only Helene Darroze and Joel Robuchon seems to be open (and they are also both in London so I am keeping them as last resort...).

Already going to le Cinq tomorrow so just need 1/2 more suggestions...I thought someone here might know it better than me mechanically going through each website!...

Many thanks!

L'Arpge and Guy Savoy are open in August.

You should also try Le Comptoir du Relais by Yves Camdeborde, which is certainly the best gastronomic bistrot in Paris.

According to website Guy Savoy is not open until 25 Aug though...L'Arpege is indeed, so thanks for the info! Around St Germain there is also Boullio Racines which looks quite nice. Might give it ago.

The Bouillon Racine is a nice place, but perhaps more for the dcor than for the food (even if it is more than decent).

If you like that kind of places, you should give a try to Le Camlon, rue de Chevreuse. Very good food in a relax atmosphere (but not quite sure it is open in August).

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere recently that Le Bristol is open this month because of demand from foreign tourists.

Almost perfect as I'm staying at le bristol, but for dinner tonight they are already full (proves a good idea to open in the month when everyone else closes!!)

Just went to le Bristol (absolutely brilliant) and l'arpege (had high hopes but was very mixed), so these two are definitely open.

I was there for lunch also, very pleasant room opening to the garden and they had very subtle piano+harp playing, totally a delight, food was great despite I had less appetite as the breakfast was already very good at le Bristol (contrary to a few mixed reviews on this issue in this forum).

Had lunch at le Cinq yesterday however not that impressed with food - perhaps I had too high expectations?? I had the feeling that it's 3 star setting+service+wine list however still 2 star food. Out of the five courses of our tasting menu, one we didn't like (4 out of 4 at the table voted) and one we felt could be improved easily (2 out of the 4 at the table voted) so overall didn't give a wow effect...

Service at le cinq was absolutely top. One of us had a small fly resting on the wine glass and they gave us complementary dessert wine from Hungary. We also expressed our wishes to have the coffee/petit-four in their garden which was immediately granted. I hope food gets a little bit better before they get their 3rd star!

ps. Have also been to Le Cameleon as Nicolas75 suggested, indeed fantastic local eatery, very good value and thanks for the suggestion!

Happy you enjoyed it.

Tomorrow, why not trying the terrace of Armani caffe. Surprisingly excellent food (but when you know that it is run by Massimo Mori, that is not that surpising).
Or an intimate dinner at Htel Montalembert (actually, it is my cantine, I live next door): chic, quiet, and so Saint Germain .

For something different--not French food--try the rooftop restaurant at the top of the musee du monde arabe (accents missing/spelling?) if it's open. Nice views and last summer it seemed popular among the natives. Or, to echo a suggestion posted above, go to one of the top bistros or (my idea) one of the famous old restaurants in Montparnasse.

Michelin used to have a list of restaurants in Paris open in August, as well as Sunday, late night, etc. Even an old version of the red guide might be a helpful starting point if you can get your hands on one.

In general, some of the restaurants in hotels are likely to be open. I've had good meals in le Bristol. Les Ambassadeurs (spelling?) in Hotel de Crillon at one time had two or three stars and was open on Sunday nights, which was very useful to me several times. Paris (VIII, in hotel also I believe) might be open, although I've never managed to get a reservation there.

I think l'arpege used to be better. In fact, the list posted above shows how many restaurants have fallen in recent years, including some of my old favorites like Jacques Cagna (definitely not open in August). I tried Helene (accents) Darrouze once, when it was new and very highly rated, but I was disappointed, even though I didn't expect it to be at all like the family's old place in Auch.
