SYD-NRT C Class Menu...

Hi QF Forum,

After a long period, I am taking a QF C flight to NRT, ex-SYD. Does anyone have an ideas on the current menu? Good Japanese options for dinner/breakfast?

Also, what champagne do QF pour in C these days...?

Cheers,

AG. :-:

Charles Hiedsieck generally (part of the Oneworld common sourcing and a good price/performer). In the past japanese options on QF have been rather poor, doubt that has changed esp. ex-SYD. qantas.com has a sample menu for SYD-PVG which might be similar to NRT.

QF21 menu in J in early June 10 was:
Supper:

Suzuki Muloway
Japanese style chicken
Lamb shank
green leaf salad

cheese
nice cream
fresh fruit

chocolates

Breakfast:
Juices
passionfruit refresher
fruit salad & yoghurt
toast
croissant
Chocolate organge babka
toasted muesli
scrambled eggs on toast with trout and spinach

or Japanese Breakfast:
juices
miso soup
salad - carrot celery parsnip with black sesame dressing
chicken roll with japanese vegies, tofu with seaweed and cod roe and furikake yaki onagri
assorted kounomono

Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve

Dinner is rushed to let people get to sleep. Breakfast about 90 min prior to landing.

If you have SYD T1 Flounge access, its worth a leisurely dinner there with something nicer than the Charles Heidsieck. I just topped up the drinks instead of on board dinner - as I had gutsed out in the Flounge. It made for better sleep.

While the all airline FT menu collection doesn't yet have QF J SYD-NRT menu listed, there are plenty of other QF menus to give some idea of what to expect.

PJs are served (at least they were in June).. However, asking the F checkin will get a puzzled "I don't know - but I'll phone the pyjama lady" .... 2 min later - "no pyjamas loaded''. Flounge reception desk question and told "yes they are loaded".

Therefore, they might be loaded.

Thanks all for the feedback...!

I assume that PJ's will be given, it is o/night flight, afterall... Do they give slippers on this route too, given this is a Japan flight?

Cheers,

No slippers in the J PJs pack (nor the amenity kit). If you want slippers, you'll have to fly Hainan or Air China domestic First (and have small feet).
