I have had similar issues with Marriott and a recent RTW. Oddly the Marriott Royal Aurora in Moscow (the property I had felt would be an issue from things I had heard) was the most efficient with the posting. JWMarriott seems to make it a standard to not post and my experience was not any different. I also canceled a slew of reservations because I felt it was too much for too little reward.

This happens to me ALL THE TIME
Glad to know I am not the only one (almost every time I talk to MR about this they express bafflement that such a thing could occur).
I go to the UK at least once a month (in fact I am in a UK Marriott now for 4th time in 7 weeks), so I guess I've had about 8-10 international stays (all UK) so far this year. Every single time, no points post and I have to fax the bill to Utah. Last week I got fed up and called them, and after speaking to four people and being on the phone for about 50 minutes (no joke), they were finally able to correct for me over the phone (but only after faxing directly the the very nice CSR).
This drives me crazy and it's an example of extremely poor service (or IT infrastructure) on the part of Marriott. It's ridiculous that I have to be constantly be checking the Marriott website and chasing points.
Come on Marriott, get your act together!

I just wonder why this is such a huge problem with Marriott?
Being top tier in all five I can honestly say that IHG, Hyatt, SPG, or Hilton rarely misses a stay. If they do an email or phone call will get the issue solved immediately.

With over 80% of our nights in non-US properties, this problem has become the order of the day for us. From my records, I have had to contact Marriott for 58 nights year-to-date that failed to show up for the following properties:
JW Bangkok
Courtyard Bangkok
JW Kuala Lumpur
JW Jakarta
JW Surabaya
Renaissaince Kowloon Hong Kong
Renaissance Manila
Marriott Brussels
Marriott Ghent
Marriott Frankfurt
Marriott Budapest
Marriott Prague
Marriott Ledra Athens
Courtyard Rome Fiumicino
Marriott Guarulhos Sao Paulo
I don't know why Marriott isn't doing anything to rectify this problem, which has lasted for as long as I can remember.

I think those that are experiencing this problem on a regular basis should contact WHQ, as it seems to an on-going problem. While I've not experienced it, seeing how others are on a regular basis means it needs to be fixed or they'll lose people as some have stated in this thread & others. Obviously Marriott Rewards can get it credited once they're contacted, but they can't fix the problem. Methinks this one needs to go up the flagpole.
Cheers.

Just spoke with a Marriott rep when I was issuing three travel package awards. She was saying that she instructs members just to fax the folio after each and every international Marriott stay to Marriott rewards to get stay/points posted.
It seems that Marriott is well aware of this problem but doesn't want to do anything to correct it. Maybe the reason is that they just collect the fee for Marriott rewards member stays from hotels but don't actually credit the points?

Aagghhhhh!
This has suddenly become a huge problem for me (AGAIN). LAst year I was told that Marriott had a new system where front desk just hit a key to add Reward points, so no more manual entering the night after the stay. Things then improved and stays were recorded the day after I had left. Excellent, I thought.
This year I started to have problems when I had two rooms booked, one for me and on for a friend. The friends stay was recorded and as they only stayed one night, just one night. My stays weren't recorded and they were for two nights, so my nights were all over the place. Marriott Concierge have been really helpful (thanks folks!) and taken this issue up for me and have resolved one of the two stays where this happened.
The problem has now got worse. I stayed at West India Quay Marriott and only had points for the one night, even though I paid by gift card for the second and should have got the night credit. Again Marriott Concierge are attempting to sort.
It get's worse: I return from a week away and had stayed 4 paid nights at two different hotels. Lo and behold the points hadn't gone on and 4 nights had actually been deducted from my account!!! Just had another weekend away and although I only checked out yesterday, no points or nights posted, so I have the horrible feeling this stay won't post either.
Sadly, we don't have e-billing in the UK and I don't have access to a fax machine (instead I have to ask Mr HP to take a pile of bills and fax them for me, as well as have to laboriously write fax header, then hope that they will eventually be credited).
Even with Marriott Concierge on the case the hotels are proving difficult to extract the bills from and I have so far waited two months for resolution of one problem and all the time other stays are not posting, so it gets more and more complex. I can see this rolling into next year and me losing Plat status while they continue to mess about. Not to mention MegaBonus ...
I honestly believe that the hotels are hitting the key, but Marriott centrally have a whopper of a problem with the computer system. The odd missing stay is forgiveable, but one after another and missing nights and nights being deducted ....

Q regarding the checkin time 500 mile bonus. I always select it but 2-3 times out of 10 have to go back and request the points because the hotel fails to credit them. Annoying since they make you sign the thing right at checkin.

Marriott St. Kitts - I had two rooms and about a week and a half after checking out part of one rooms points posted, 19,000, and seven nights credited to my account. I had to fax both room receipts to Platinum Guest Services and they made the correct adjustments and I ended up with 69,000 points. I still haven't been given credit for my arrival gift, which is always points, but that's par for the course and I'm just too tired of fighting for points owed me that I guess I'll just let those go.
On a side note, I was overcharged 35,000 points for a rewards stay by Morning Star back in January and just this week I finally was able to get someone to understand why they needed to give me those points back. Fun stuff.

Most efficient way to get missing points posted
I have a new laptop without a fax modem and a few times a year I a stay does not get posted. Given that we get the efolios it would be nice to be able to attach a file to this web page
https://www.marriott.com/suggest/sug...=rewards#email
Since I am in the office irregularly and this would make it easier.
Thanks for considering this.

Copies of folios can be emailed directly to the Elite desk so that missing stays can be corrected. I do this and it is always sorted within a couple of days.

Hi hnewman,
You can forward eFolios to [email protected], or attach a scanned copy of your hotel bill to an e-mail and send it to [email protected]. Please make sure to include your account number on any documentation that you send.

Drew
