Yes, that is fast. However, it is not beyond the realm of possibility for the flight credit to post as soon as the plane pushes back (or upon door closing...or as soon as the Ops Agent scans your BP).

You know you are an FT'er if . . .

  • You log into the website while you're still in the jetway because you want to see if your flight credit has posted yet.

I was on SMF-LAS flight 777 yesterday with a colleague who does not fly nearly as much as I do. Her flight credit posted on the jetway. Mine did not post until after 10,000 feet. WHY???????

I had a flight credit show up in my account when there was no RR# in the record. It was a OW return home, and the "ICBM" in the confirmation Email indicates it was a new system booking. I didn't want that flight to post to my account yet.

The outbound was booked less than five hours before the return was booked, then rebooked under SODA at 12:30am 18-April. It was ticketed in the old system without an RR# and appears to have stayed in the old system when an RSA did the rebooking (no "ICBM" in the updated confirmation). The updated confirmation did not have the "ICBM" code, which could mean it stayed in the old ticketing system, or simply reflect that reservations made by phone, even in the new ticketing system, don't use the "Internet Core Booking Module." That flight has not posted.

SWAVictor, has your group built omniscience into the new ticketing system??

As far as posting credits even sooner...can you imagine the hassle of reversing all those credits during irregular ops when the aircraft returns to the gate and pax disembark!?

Addendum: it appears another improvement of the new ticketing system is that flights we book for others while logged in to our accounts show up in their travel history instead of ours.

Another unwanted flight credit posting

Another new ticketing system with a blank RR# field posted to my account the day of the flight. Ordinarily this would not be a significant concern but right now it is a big one for me. In part due to the ATA shutdown last Spring and in part due to a (non-SWA) travel fiasco shortly thereafter, I already have more awards than I'll likely be able to use in the next 12 months. As a result of these two flights "magically" hitting my account, another award will probably be triggered this weekend due to an incoming Visa credit. I'll be quite surprised if I am able to use it before September 2010 or so. With my flying patterns the $50 award extension fee is a huge diminution of the award value. Unless another workaround can be found, I'm currently thinking I'll have to move all my revenue flights to another airline for a year or more (then reevaluate once the details of RR 2.0 are known).

SWAVictor, do you have any insight as to what is happening here? One additional difference between the two flights that posted and the one that didn't is that the two that posted had the RR removed after booking by an RSA (that technique worked fine in the old ticketing system). The one that didn't post was originally booked in the old ticketing system without an RR# in the first place; it was rebooked over the phone under SODA, and I'm unsure whether that put it in the new system or not.

If anyone knows of a way to remove flight credit postings so they can be added later, I'd love to hear about it (before customer service closes today).

I have some guesses about techniques that might be effective for future bookings, but it could take months for me to personally test them.

Say it ain't so, Joe. Does that mean we will no longer have you helping us figure out the intricacies of the SWA web site?

If the Purchaser Name and Passenger Name are the same, and it matches the name in your Rapid Reward Account, the website goes out and searches to see if you have an account. If you do, it will add it to the reservation. I assume this is what happened.

PM me with some confirmation numbers and I'll see if it looks like that is what happened.

So ftn, the obvious work-around for you is to fill in a different first name as the credit card holder. FWIW, I don't think credit card processing systems even cares what name you use as long as the street address is correct for the card you are using.

Or add a middle initial in the reservation....

Oddly enough: I now have a couple new ticketing system flights that have not yet posted (24 and 120 hours after the flights)...even though my RR number was in the itinerary and was printed on my boarding pass.

Are other folks currently seeing "real time" posting of flight credits, or are flight credit postings delayed for everyone?

My flights seem to be posting at the end of the night rather than shortly after the flight lands. I had one go about five days before I added it manually.

Awards seem to be posting quicker, but I also noticed that an award flight that a friend of mine took didn't get pulled. The award still shows "reserved for future flight."

I recently had two flight credits posted the same day. It seems the tracking system is improving.

Neither flight from my most recent trip has posted. The itinerary was a round trip booked with one of the 50% off codes during the four day "mystery" sale. I'd be happy about the delay if an award hadn't just been issued recently. I don't plan to put in a back credit request any time soon, I'll leave it pending for as long as it takes.
