Montenegro...nice! Just going by the Google Maps image, I would say they need to invest in a much larger pool!

I thought I spotted it as the collection of villas in two rows on a ridge. No?

I haven't been to amanjiwo yet, so I don't have that advantage in trying to locate it. I think I found the Borobudor temple complex, but I can't seem to find amanjiwo nearby it. I thought that the monolithic design of amanjiwo would have made it easy to spot. Maybe the dark roof is blending into the countryside.

At least the exercise has given me an idea for what we'll see on the ride in from the airport at Solo City.

You won't see anything. The main building is set back from the road, and all you can see from the entrance road is the outer property wall, with a guard gate. There is no sign.

Nah, what I meant was that looking at the google earth images has given me an idea for what kind of terrain and settlements we'll pass through and nearby on the ride from SOC to amanjiwo.

Two-lane winding road, passes through a bunch of small, tidy villages, each with its convenience store and mosque, pretty pleasant drive.

Try 737'54.53"S Lat and 11012'7.25"E Long. It is much further away from the temple than you would expect, although the views from it are spectacular.

There it is! It is a bit farther from the monument than I had expected. But it does look beautiful.

wow... spectacular pics... although I am not sure about Amandari... I recall that there were no pavillions below the pool (only a few bal and the river).

I agree and the pool seems to be the wrong shape as well. And if I remember correctly, there should be a bal on the edge of the pool where they have musicians play.

Amandari, more likely

I only had dinner once at Amandari and my memory is bad, I always thought that the Alila is across the river from Amandari and you can see the pool of the Alila to the north.

But judging from the Amandari pool and the layout this one looks more like it

http://maps.google.de/maps?t=h&hl=en...,0.004141&z=18

But which hotel is the other then?
