Well, I have some news. I guess my last post gave it away, but here it is:

Most likely, this will be a Star DO instead of an exclusive SAS DO.

While I have already written back to SAS, no reply. I have also contacted Lufthansa who has welcomed us with open arms, they see a real value in this very positive event.

Oliver and I are heading to NYC to meet with them in the middle of February to plan the event closely. For you SAS fan's, don't be discouraged! We will of course have a Scandinavian theme, but the DO charter flights will most likely take place on board a Lufthansa A320 or A321, but SAS will of course be an integral part on our OSL and ARN stops

We are looking at the following program:

Thursday November 5th
0600 Champagne breakfast in FRA
0700 FRA-OSL flight
0800 Champagne breakfast in OSL for members starting there.
0850 Arrive OSL, parking at the SAS hangar
Breakfast continues, Ola Strand (head of SAS operations in Norway will be invited)
1000 OSL-ARN flight
1050 Arrive OSL, parking at the SAS hangar
Meeting with the SAS management. President and CEO Mats Jonsson will be invited
1200 Main DO flight ARN-TLS
1430 Arrice TLS
The BIG Airbus DO, hopefully a tour of the FIRST LH A380!!
1730 TLS-FRA
1830 Arrive FRA

DO Dinner

Friday November 6th
A day at LHs main base

For those of you traveling from the US, we are all trying to fly together on LH403 EWR-FRA on Tuesday November 3rd. We will get great prices in Y, C and F. We will also block a section of the plane for FTers only.

Thanks to LH for helping us out and thanks for the parts of SAS who wants this to happen!

Will keep you posted when we make progress.
Absolutely excellent.

I may be out of vacation time so will have to request time without pay but it sounds like it could be well worth it.

Excellent work again, Tommy!

And it sure is refreshing to see that there are still airlines left that do not consider us just a nuisance...

Thumbs up

Woohoo! Fantastic! As Kiwi Flyer mentioned, an FRA start and end point is great for us here in Kiwiland. It certainly saves an extra leg on the journey!

And, the opportunity to see the first LH A380 sounds very exciting!

Because we don't want more people to find out!
We can't charter an LH A380 yet.

Well we could always try and nab an A330/A340

FRA is a better starting point for me amazingly (1 SAS flight if i've been a good boy out of BHX vs 3 flights a day to FRA).

Thanks for organizing this! Please add me. I'll also start from FRA if that stays an option.

Right now, it's looking *great* for me to be on the ARN-FRA section.

From FRA, I can continue to EWR or IAD (whichever works best) and then back to ARN fairly easily and this should mesh quite nicely with my second fall trip.

Waiting for final details and how to manage this...thanks for setting it all up!

If still possible, please add me to the list (pending prices), starting in FRA. Thanks for your work on this!
