I see lots of people talking about Milbrae BART lot, in terms of price and travel to/from the airport. Any comments on safety of the lot? Never parked there, so don't know what it's like. Normally, I travel with wife and kids, so Milbrae isn't even a thought, as a real PITA to get back and forth from airport with 4. But for an upcoming trip, it's just me, and ParkSFO is $72, whereas I think Milbrae BART would be $30 (or maybe less, one day would be a Sat.), plus BART fare. But wondering about safety...not for the BART trip itself, and not worried about that on that stretch particularly, but of the lot itself. I mean safety personally while walking around the lot, and leaving car there for a few days (is it monitored, are there cameras, etc.?). Appreciate any insight.

Haven't felt unsafe there. If you park all the way towards the west end of the garage, you're closest to the station, thereby minimizing walking time in the garage. Don't have much insight on the vehicle security situation there, other than personal experience of not having any issues to date.

Most BART parking garages have at least one or two obvious security cameras on each parking level.

I don't think there's any meaningful personal safety risk at Millbrae BART, but there's likely some risk to the car.

I like ParkSFO best of the off-airport options, but $6/day is hard to beat.

I’d leave my car at Millbrae. I have left it at Daly City, South City, and San Bruno.

Never had any “real” issues, but (seriously) someone stole my hubcaps at San Bruno.

Hopefully they're the ones that actually work. :p

I can't speak specifically to Millbrae but there are regular smashed window & catalytic thefts at the East Bay BART parking lots. I don't hesitate to park in the suburban lots if I am spending a day in the city and want to avoid rush hour traffic across the bridge. But overnight just seems to be tempting fate, and the cost savings maybe not worth the risk (however small) of damage.

For <72 hours, SFO hourly lot quoting $108 v. $50 at Park SFO or Anza. I will probably just suck it up given the convenience factor, though maybe depends on traffic.

Both ParkSFO and Anza always have coupons - haven’t paid attn. to Anza lately as I was not impressed at all last time I used them, but ParkSFO always has 1/2/3/4 days free. But at a base price of $18.95/day (IIRC), and no long-term discounts, it gets pretty exhirbunant fast once you are out of town for a couple of weeks or more.

on the trip when I was contemplating using Milbrae, decided to just Uber back and forth - even at $70-80 each way (from east bay), still well cheaper than parking except for Milbrae. If even then, coming back with kids after a ULH, at night, Uber is going to make more sense anyway, since it will also be able to get going home since we won’t have the PITA of getting to the car, or me having yo do it, then coming back to get wife/kids, etc.

I normally park in the ParkFast area as I fly AS in terminal 2. I will be driving our Ford F350 long bed until December and looks like International A&G are the only ones that take a vehicle as tall as the truck. My question is will it fit in the stalls? I have not parked in that garage so don't have an idea of the stall size. Thanks for any help!

Fun fact, most modern cars actually have the lug nuts hold on the hubcap, so thieves have to damage the hubcaps to remove them, or they have to remove the lug nuts.

Been a while since I posted in here, but I see it’s been pretty quiet anyway….

I’ve typically used ParkSFO, and coupons have made it reasonable. Looking to park for 10 days (really 9 + 5-6 hours, so essentially will pay as 10 days) over Thanksgiving - ParkSFO coupons - all of them seemingly, have blackouts from Nov. 21-28. We’re leaving earlier than that though - Nov. 16-25. Anyone know if the any coupon will apply at all? I’m not sure if:

1. Coupon just won’t apply since part of our stay is during blackout period
2. Coupons will apply based on Nov. 16-20 part of stay
3. Coupons will apply normally since entry is prior to blackout

I kind of assume 1, or possibly 2. It makes a huge difference - something like $115 for the time, vs. ~$200.

alternatively, anyone know if the other lots, like Anza or Park & Fly promos work during this period?

our alternative would be Milbrae BART (though probably a bit of a PITA, with wife and kids), or even Uber would likely be cheaper/easier

For longer stays we typically do Uber/Lyft. Cheaper, more convenient and the car is at home for the duration. Otherwise, we use ParkSFO exclusively

Cheers.

Fixed it for you based on what my wife always tells me. :)

Recently used the long-term garage for a short 4 day trip. Found a charger on level 4 unoccupied, used one of the RFID credit cards to activate the charger and it only shut off after it hit the charge limit I had set in the car. Too bad from that point parasitic draw set in and by the time I got back the charge was what it was when I first parked it.

So the lesson here is make sure you're charging slow enough and long enough that the charger won't hit its limit and shut off. This also explains why so many of the chargers were connected to cars but not charging.

Also noticed the online discount when booking at LTP (possibly the Dom/Intl garages also, I can't remember) that returned briefly after Labor Day was short-lived. Now requires a 5-day minimum reservation. :td:

do they have an online discount? Haven’t looked in a while, but thought that stopped a year and an half+ ago, when post-COVID traffic started picking up.
