There are rates this Friday (Labor Day weekend), using Google hotels without parking, that would be very attractive for a one night stay, and then drive off and park somewhere else (or park somewhere else the night before). The Hilton is $84 and the Crowne Plaza is $79. There's a HIX at $66 and the Hyatt Regency at $97.

Sheesh. That's low!

Cheapest I could see on https://parksleepfly.com/ was Holiday Inn Express SFO North was $5.99 for self-park ($97 for 12 days of parking and $230 for 12 days of parking plus one night in the hotel). Burlingame Airport Park was about $103 for the same parking period.

Anyone have opinions on either of those two options? (For parking only.) The Holiday Inn is cheap, but is it a good/safe place to leave a car for about 2 weeks?

I've been parking at BAP for last few years without any incidents there. Have never seen a vehicle broken into or glass anywhere on the ground. The entire lot is fenced. Really no on-street parking there for someone to wander in to check out cars, and the street entry point has a gate to scan a QR code (not sure you can get a ticket just driving up any longer- you were able to do that for years). Prior to that I regularly parked at Park SFO using free day coupons towards my bill, but with them being $18 a day now hard to justify staying there even with the free days. Seem to always come out paying less at BAP.

SFO is running a promo where you can pay the long-term rate ($18/day) and park in the Domestic Garage (right at the terminals). Useful for a short trip. You can book on the FlySFO website.

The Long Term Garage has been closed for months. Presumably the decreased amount of traffic no longer makes it economical to operate the garage/run the shuttle buses.

If you don't want to deal with booking on-line, you can swing by the Long Term Garage on the way to the airport. There's a person stationed there that will give you a ticket to use when exiting the Domestic Garage to get the same $18/day rate.

This is actually a regular thing for SFO Parking that domestic/international garages serve as overflow lots.

Yes, I remember this happening as well during (pre-covid) busy times.

Felt like I hit the jackpot one time when they told me the garage was full and that I could park at the Domestic Garage at Long Term rates.

Although another time, they just told me to use Lot D. I didn't feel so lucky then.

We switched from ParkSFO to Anza a few years ago and have never looked back. ANZA is more convenient if you are driving North to SFO from the San Mateo Bridge or peninsula and the website offers cheap reservations ($11/day plus tax). The shuttle is always waiting at the lot and we never have to wait long at the airport when we return.

In the old days you would get free valet because the lots were always full. Now it is an easy self-park as there are plenty of spaces. IMO the only downside is getting to 101 South after you exit the lot. But you make it up on the front end vs. ParkSFO.

I noticed recently the airport itself is letting you park at the domestic garage at the $18/day long term rate if you book online

https://www.flysfo.com/to-from/parking

depending on length of stay vs desire to avoid a shuttle ride etc, might be worth considering.

It is not exactly a promotion. If you look at the occupancy rate at the bottom of the page, you will see LT Parking is practically shut down (0% occupancy).

Is the long term lot even open? It wouldn't surprise me if they simply closed the lot due to low demand, to reduce staff, shuttle drivers, etc.

Nevertheless $18 is less than $36.

It is not. But you need to book online, or stop by the LT Parking entrance, to get the $18/day rate at the Domestic Garage.

I'm still using Burlingame Airport Parking next to the Hilton (and across the street from Anza). $9 a day plus tax this time of year. Must pre-book. Airport pickups are currently on-demand. Hotel departures seem to be running on the half hour and hour still if there are guests (or if you've called from the parking lot).

+1 for using BAP, like many I've grown tired of Park SFO.

The tax included rate per day has been coming out to $9.25 per day which is certainly on the cheaper side for SFO parking. Since the pandemic started the shuttle system has been quite odd, sometimes there's a dedicated black shuttle making the rounds other times you have to call for the Hilton van. I haven't quite figured out when the shuttle is running and when its not, although I have always made the preemptive call to the Hilton to organize a shuttle.

$36.80 r/t for 2 people on BART.
$54 pre-pay in the garage

Also, its street cleaning tomorrow, so I have to move the car anyways. Sunday BART schedule sucks. This is a no brainer.

The web page where you book has an “apply promo code” section. Has anyone ever found a promo code?
