How much is breakfast worth?

We are debating about hotel rooms that include a continental breakfast. It would be about $100 more for 5 days. We are at the Hyatt Regency at Embarcardo street. Can anyone tell me how far it would be to walk to the Vodin bakery? Hope that is spelled correctly because our friend said his memory could be flawed. (Nice way to put it)??

Perhaps someone could suggest or estimate what a simple breakfast might cost eating at a place outside of that hotel?

That hotel is in the Financial District. Your light breakfast options would be mostly delis, Noah's Bagels and the like. Some coffee, a scone/bagel and fruit would probably go for about $7-8. The money would be about the same, so it's really about your personal preferences. I'd get tired of breakfast in the same spot for five days in a row.

Other options include what's in the Ferry Building....Lulu, ACME, Miette, and Peet's are some of the places that come to mind that offer breakfast items.

I did figure out that the bakery is Boudins. Guess his memory and ears are both failing him...(:

Great idea. I forgot about the newly renovated Ferry Building (on the water about 200 meters east of your hotel). There are lots of options there, and in a very nice setting.
