I didn't say these were the closest, just ones I pass often. Thankfully there are many more options for in-out fix now that don't require bullet proof windows LOL. Personally I would not go out of my way if you are transiting the airport but I know it's a cult thing for non-residents.

I'm not thrilled with the crowd at In-n-out MiIlbrae location but I am not aware of any problems, at least not to the same extent as the soon-to-close location in Oakland. For those who need a late night In/Out fix, there is also Castro Valley and Fremont (South of OAK), Daly City (North of SFO) and Mountain View (North of SJC).
if they want munchies then I’ll suggest Daly City which is near Serramonte and indeed very nice. Amusingly I abhor all items at In n Out and prefer just getting a real burger at original joes or just making it myself at home. Still can’t do fries.

FYI yesterday was the official closing day for this location (and perhaps now for this thread?)
Au contraire, I love in-n-out fries but they are only good for about 15 minutes. However I rank them below 5 guys fries which are 2x more expensive but they also give you 3x more fries. McDs are mediocre.
