Directions to Santa Clara Travel show- 3/5-3/6

Hi,

I am headed the to Travel show this weekend at the Santa Clara convention center, how is the best way to get there from North Bay - 101? Should I head to the airport and continue on? or take the Richmond Bridge to the east bay and head down that way? I very seldom go to the South bay and just want the best route. Heading down tomorrow, Saturday, so no rush hour traffic to deal with.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. thanks,

Where are you in the north bay? If you're north of San Rafael, take the bridge to the east bay and take 101 on the way back. The Richmond bridge is toll-free in the eastbound direction and the GG bridge is toll-free northbound. If you have to go north to get to San Rafael, the toll saved might not be worth it.

According to Google Maps, the distance between San Rafael and the convention center is exactly the same (down to a tenth of a mile) between 101 and 880. There's nothing wrong with either outside of commute hours.

Thanks, we ended up taking the GG and taking 280 to 101. Travel show was not that interesting, but the pit stop at Ikea was worth the trip. Thanks,

I didn't see your post until now, or I would have suggested that it's really not worth coming down from the North Bay...

I live a few miles away from the convention center, and even living there the only reason I went a second year was because I got free tickets. No way I'd go again. Seems to be basically the same presenters year after year after year...

Thanks for the comments, It was my first time (and probably my last), and we did get free tickets. We wanted to see what Africa specialist they had, and there were 6 and only 1 was interesting, but we were able to pick up a couple of safari guides which we would have normally had to pay $20-25 for, so free tickets, free parking, a demonstration of belly dancers and the Ikea pit stop, made it well worth the trip. (and I got to see the new Levi stadium).

Thanks again.
