points.com and reusing accounts

points.com and reusing accounts
With the running promotions, which involve points.com and the problem with Hotspex, I have question.
I know a FF account stays linked to points.com even if you delete it from there. However, can I close my points.com account and then open a new one, then link the FF account (which was deleted from the first points.com account)?
Could not explain it very well, but the idea should be clear.
