After quite a lengthy time spent completing a survey on video rentals, I was informed that I did not qualify. Because of this, I would get $1 instead of $7.

I have NO problem not qualifying for a survey, but determination should be made with the first 10 questions (actually w/n the first 4-5, right?), not after a thorough statistical analysis could be performed from my numerous inputted answers.

Most of the questions required physical entry of data: Blockbuster, NetFlix, Hollywood Video, Grocery Store, etc. as opposed to using radio buttons to select a given choice.

The survey covered who competes in the rental market, who competes in the sales market, advertising, rental frequency, etc. BS if I didn’t complete this. This almost looks like a survey bait and switch.

This is a new reason I don’t like E-Rewards. I don’t know why I go through this.

Haha Im glad I saw this after 9 years from when you posted this first. I recently signed up and tried a few of their tons of emails they sent and never qualified for anyone of them. And yes, that was after spending a lot of time filling forms.

Strange...
I have redeemed $60 for 500 Hertz every quarter without any problem.

I just looked... the 500 I redeemed July 1 already posted,
Total is 3000, so that is 6 quarterss without a hitch.

I feel like I should know this, but don't - do the redemption restrictions for each brand apply across their different value offerings? Which is to say, could I redeem for both the 150 and 500 point Hertz rewards every quarter (or all the Best Buy increments), or am I limited to just one of the set?

You get one per partner for the period, not one for each value.

Thanks! I suspected this was the case but wanted to be sure.

Has anyone tried redeeming miles to a family members (UA) account? I want to credit miles to my 3 year old daughters account which will stop her account expiring.

Yes! I've done it many times. Here's how:

Change the eRewards name, address, etc to match her UA account
then
redeem eRewards for UA miles to her UA account (her UA account#)
then
after the miles post, change the eRewards name, address, etc back to whatever it was before

I do this very frequently. You don't even have to change the address of your account (although you can if that makes you feel better), I just always change the name

+1 BANG-ON! Jgx & Mauibaby. Or Englisha can open a Rewards Network account in the little girl's name & UA# with one of Daddy's or Mommy's credit cards, then eat at a member restaurant.

Has been happening for a few weeks so I contacted Customer Service for an explanation. Their reply asked if I was out of my home country. I am in Europe for the summer. Turns out they automatically disqualify you if you attempt to access a survey from outside your home country.
W T F?
FT'ers never travel do they? I asked for some sort of compensation for my frustration but have not heard back. Yet I continue to receive survey 'opportunities'. Might just have to redeem my $200+ and call it quits with them otherwise.

Have a look at Hotspot Shield. Works for me.

Virtual Private Network used to solve this problem for me, but it doesn't on this trip. Does the Hotspot Shield still work?

At least the message now tells me that I'm in the wrong country, rather than that the offer has expired.

I've not used any VPN product, as a proxy will do. However, I have noticed changes recently. The location check used to just be done by e-ewards.com. Now, it is done also on researchnow.com, surveymyopinion.com and others.

Also, it is possible that they are setting a cookie to ensure that once you are flagged, they continue to automatically disallow you, even if your IP address switches to coming from the USA. (Opinionmilesclub appears to do this.)

Some proxies don't work correctly, that is, if you check using findmyipinfo.com and whatismyip.com, they show different locations. So it's not clear what the survey will see.
Also the surveys hosted at surveymyopinion.com check the location differently than the others. Some surveys check the location inside the survey too, beyond the initial page.
And, some browsers don't work correctly too, I've been rejected on Chrome, besides being physically in the country (really) and allowed if I use IE.

It depends what you mean by "correctly". For example, it is standard to have a "VIA" header inserted by a proxy and a common default for proxies to also include an "X-Forwarded-For" header which gives the IP address of the client. Obviously, a smart address checker will check both of those headers, as well as the incoming IP address that it is talking to. So, "correctly", for our purpose here, is actually "incorrectly", from the view of standards.

I have tried whatismyip.com and various others (with those headers configured off in my proxy) and none of them detect that I am using a proxy at all.

Recently (i.e. in the last 2-3 weeks), I've been getting a few what appear to be eRewards surveys in e-mail which, when I click on them, don't show my name/account at the top of of the eRewards page that comes up.

I've done a couple of those and didn't get any eRewards credit for doing them .... so I've stopped doing them.

Has anyone else had this issue and/or know why it occurs?

Thanks!

Editted to add: =============================

08-19-2013: neuromancer, thanks for the response .... I'll check it out with the next one I get ....

neuromancer Aug 19, 2013 12:09 pm

If they are at http://www.surveymyopinion.com/, everything should be fine and I have got credit for them.
