I'm going to wait til I get $100 to do another $100 transfer to Hilton. However, the 2mths before my last "expiration" of money, I didn't get ANY surveys to be able to claim a reward. Then one day after a lot of my money expired, I got like 15 surveys in one day. Odd...
I always get surveys:
1. Right after I redeem for some substandard reward like 1k for $50 b/c I haven't been getting any surveys for a while.
2. Right after currency expiration.
3. When I'm on vacation and don't have access to a computer.
4. At 2 AM, so by 10 AM the surveyor has enough respondents and the survey is "now closed."
5. Or it is about some rare, obscure disease, with no way to qualify...and, of course, it is worth ER$2-$300.

1. Airline $$ off! How can you beat $ to $ credit? I use NW $50 off reward on regular bases. Only caveat is you can only redeem once every often (quarter.. i believe).
2. WSJ. I successfully used the $45-level reward for renewal. this is valuable since I'd otherwise have to pay cash or airline miles for it.
3. Magazine. If they have a magazine you'd subscribe anyway, it'd a fantastic deal. (i.e. $20 for Travel & Leisure. I was going to get it anyway and only cost me <1.5 hrs. of my time for 1 yr. sub.
Contrary to the general sentiments, i just don't think miles/points are great value for the $. i have redeemed for HH points but won't be redeeming for miles or points again anytime soon unless i'm swimming in more e-reward $$s than i can use.

I'm at $97 and all the surveys dried up. Last time I was going to lose $60 due to expiration all the surveys again dried up. Seems like they don't like you to reach certain dollar amounts or to let you earn right before expiration so you end up losing the $ and can't redeem for what you want...
Just one more survey and I can cash in for my Hilton points!

Yes. Only half of our friends/family get the offer to extend with account update. The other half redeem for whatever they can, often losing a couple of bucks here and there.
