If a lot of you are like me, you maxout with your input of codes daily;just build up a huge balance and when (if you are lucky enough to find out when these inventories are released) they come available you pounce for as many as you can.

MCR has extended this program without any benefit to the consumer other than the extension for a 2nd year in a row now, they know the game and so do the vendors. So I don't blame the EBayers (and I am not one) nor the vendors, I put it all on MCR. I just monitor it often and once a reward that appeals to me hits (and I find out) I will unload my boatload of points on it just like I did with the last load of PC points, I was able to rake in a ton of those, it was great and worth the wait.

Just keep waiting and pounce when its your turn to hit the MCR lotto

I agree with Trojan Horse on this. You need to learn the system for what it is. If MCR puts limits on redemptions like they did with Hilton rewards last year after the big initial run then you live with that rule. But if they allow unlimted redemptions like with Delta, then you must be ready when they are available to scoop them up quickly.

In my previous posts here I tried to give everyone here a heads up about the sequential ordering of the redemption codes for Delta. That coupled with a place for members to post the first digit or so of the code would give anyone viewing this the ability to predict when a reward would run out. It was obvious to me that this group of Delta awards wouldn't last more than a day.

Save up and then be quick. I also have never sold anything on Ebay.

Personally, I'm not upset with MCR, and I certainly appreciate the heads-up that you and others have provided. I have taken advantage of them when I have had the points. I bear no grudge against anyone who redeemed as many points as they could.

It just seems like the MCR program would be better served by limiting redemptions by each account in order to stretch out the woefully short supply of rewards. At present, MCR offers good rewards for about 10 days a year and practically nothing for 355. Is that really how they want to run their program?

The reason I didn't jump at the last batch of DL rewards was that I knew that there wouldn't be enough time for me to get some more 12-packs in order to reach the redemption requirement. So it didn't motivate me to buy Cokes. Similarly, when there are no meaningful rewards listed, I am not motivated to buy extra Cokes.

Limiting redemptions isn't a solution. It would just cause the people gaming the system to sign up for more accounts. The only ones who would be limited would be the ones following the rules. What they could do is get rid of redemption codes, force users to enter a frequent flyer number in their account in advance (not same day as redemption), and transfer the points automatically to that number.

Wow. I must have been one of the last to redeem on Thurs at 12:27am. I got a code begining with ZZ.

I agree that worked well with hilton however it would appear that due to the demand with hilton those awards 1. went up in point redemption value almost instantly and 2 they ran out of awards fast, there was one or two reloads of awards but they never lasted long so that definitely had nothing to do with ebay. MCR just limits this, obviously its working for coke since they have extended it two years running, its just not working for those playing the game

3,000 Delta award available?

I just visited MCR (5:50pm EST) and Delta 3,000 mile award seems to be avilable (at least unlike 850 mile one it doesn't say out of stock). However, I I don't have enough points to really test it. :(

Says out of stock to me.

After seeing a guy stock a vending machine, throw out the plastic while neatly stacking all the cardboard with the codes (watched him stock Dasani) and take those codes with him, methinks insiders maybe the biggest "abusers" of mcr.

What would be interesting to me, though, would be to find out MCR's redemption rates, i.e., what % of codes get entered...and what % of codes get entered AND redeemed for an actual award. How many codes never get entered and are sitting in landfills?

I also wonder what Coke's balance sheet liability for outstanding point balances in all this? They are not an airline, no SPECIFIC reward is implied by MCR (like an eventual airline seat) and they can end the program next year with no liability for unredeemed points. Do they even have to stock the awards ever again as long as they have a teddy bear and a couple of magazines available for redemption?

I'm glad I've gotten a couple of DL rewards, but this "scheme" does not come anywhere near the definition of "Loyalty Program".

I saw a bin at a pizza place today, "If you are going to dispose your coke product 20 oz bottle caps to the trash, please place caps in box, we would really appreciate it" (they had sample caps taped to the sign as well so people knew which caps to keep and which ones to toss.. It must have had over a 100 in it when I stuck my head in to see how many were there.

I was thinking... stinking genius ^

Per my post #1070 in this thread, MCR informed me via email "Delta rewards expire 3/1/2010."

No matter to me, neither of my 800 flowers orders in Oct have posted to our Delta accounts for the 2000+ miles each, and they will not respond to emails about it.

jessej Dec 22, 2007 2:44 pm

go to the delta section
search in the threads about the last promos
in it you will find the email for the person at 800 flowers responsible for miles
email him
he will research it
and your points will post that day (at least they did for me)

if you really want their attention
dispute the charge on your cc
