I think you're likely right...

Marketing trickery for which a lot of effort bears little fruit but much aggravation. Those simple 5 point partner "surveys" made it worthwhile, but I'm not about to spend my time jumping through hoops for all the other *rap... if I wanted to do that, I'd turn my clock back 10 years and go back to mypoints.

e-miles, rest in peace.

I have seen those occasionally since the site changed. They're not always 5 points, though, and they don't always have a survey attached.

I look for small point values on the list and look for the categories like "Visit" or "Watch".

I tried that...

but my net result for my effort was 0. Previously, it was simple and straightforward--when you clicked on the offering, the miles promptly posted, all for little effort and rarely a headache. Worst case, you had to listen to a video for less than a minute.

The "new" layout of e-miles is not about simplicity, it's about marketing and non-transparency in exchange for your participation. Not worth my time or impatience, totally understand if it commands the attention of others.

I'm sure those folks crunched the numbers of what brings them revenue, clearly they net more by the "mypoints" approach, than the simple format that we enjoyed for years. And I'm sure it's not a coincidence as reported over on the e-rewards thread, that redemption options for e-miles is not currently available...and from the sounds of the member who pursued that, it sounds like it will be available when I turn 172.

It's actually much easier to earn free mypoints than to earn free e-miles. This has been true for quite some time, and is apparently even truer now!

Can anyone find a link on their new website to cancel membership in e-miles?

I find the current format more rewarding and it gets me to my 500 goal faster ... go the left column and click on surveys. Both, my and the wife, reached our goal in 2 days rather than the months nickle and dime-ing those 5 points. The only bad thing is the reports we read here about the Alaska transfers!

You must have some extraordinarily good luck with those awful Peanut Labs surveys. For me, they are mostly a huge waste of time. :td:

I agree, I almost never qualified on those surveys, so I just gave up. This has become the worst site of its kind, imho. tls

Another disappointment with the "new, improved" site:

For about three years, it has been possible to redeem points for UA miles at only the 250-point level.

But the minimum for redemption has now been raised back up to the 500-point level. :(

Has anyone noticed Peanut Labs rewards aren't getting deposited instantly into your emiles account?

This just started happening a few days ago, before, refresh the page and I my surveys were instantly deposited into emiles.

Not since my last redemption on the 24th has it updated and I've done another few hundred worth.

My last redemption took me down to exactly 0 points, I wonder if that had anything to do it.

thelostshark Aug 28, 2017 1:36 pm

This has also happened to me, four times in a row: 2 for completed surveys that are showing as successfully completed, and 2 were one point each for disqualifications (which had been crediting immediately). The earlier of the 2 surveys was Friday, and I'm trying to figure out how long to wait to contact them.

So I don't think this has anything to do with the fact that you have 0 points, because I have over 200. tls

jonmch Aug 29, 2017 6:13 am

same delay for me as well, and I have points

thelostshark Aug 29, 2017 7:00 am

The points were in my account this morning. So all's well that ends well, but it's annoying that they're going back to the bad old days of a delay in having them credit. tls

archstenton Aug 29, 2017 11:44 am

Same here, I emailed them, it was fixed. Since yesterday, they've been updating instantly again.

Maybe, there were some global technical issues/scheduled maintenance over the last few days and now resolved.

I have been trying for over six weeks now to redeem 500 points for American Airlines miles. eMiles states that it takes 30 days to transfer those points. After the 30 days passed, they stated to me that it takes 4-6 weeks. It has been over six weeks now and this transfer still has not taken place with the transfer listed as still "pending". I have to wonder if I will ever get these miles. IMO, it appears that eMiles may be committing consumer fraud as I have legally earned these points and they are illegally denying me the miles reward. I will be contacting the California Attorney General and making a complaint.
