I guess I'll head over to the US Air forum to see if there is news, but I'm wondering why it is considered highly unlikely that there will be a GS 2012? Too bad, if so...

I can't help with whether they actually cancel your old miles or not - the policy you quoted does say they can use discretion. I do know with their sister company, e-rewards, both Mrs FTF and I have received waivers and they keep carrying our miles over. But that may be subject to a minimum number of miles earned, and we're fairly active.

Edit: found the thread on prospects for GS2012, but more importantly, found my calendar. Wow, hard to believe it's mid-September. Wasn't really thinking about "GS season" and it snuck up on - and now it's gone without a trace. So long, GS. RIP.

Help me get missing e-miles?

I joined e-miles in Nov. 2011. I have subscribed to the monthly donation plans of several charities. I always get the 500 or whatever initial miles instantly, but almost never get the promised 100--150 per month thereafter! I emailed them at [email protected] last winter & got some help, but on my more recent transactions I have emailed 4 times since May & been ignored each time! I tried looking up their phone # online. One Website had a # purporting to be e-miles, but it turned out to be e-rewards! How can I get thru to e-miles & get what's coming to me before I quit??

That's not a good thing. We just signed up with a charity 4 days ago & the initial 2000 pts just posted today. I hope the monthly pts post or I'll be needing contact info also.

There's a need to look at the offer specifics and in some cases to query customer support. Some of the monthly offers pay downstream monthly added miles, and others do not. Some of the ones that don't pay follow-up months tell you how long you have to continue to donate for that first 500 to be OK (for example, if you stop in the first 2 months your miles will be rescinded); others do not.

One offer that popped up for me this week didn't give the minimum dollars or say how long you needed to stay or whether you'd get follow-up miles. I wrote, and this one for example needed 6 months of donations and did not have follow-up miles. That rated a pass. :td:

An important fine print detail - you can't count on follow-up miles if they don't promise them.

E-miles Delta Points Conundrum

Hi All,

Does anyone know how long it takes for miles to transfer from an e-miles account to a Delta Skymiles account? I went through quite a bit of trouble to accumulate (in a very short period of time) the 500 mile minimum I needed to add to my existing Skymiles account so I could book a reward flight. Trouble is I need to fly in 5 weeks, but I just noticed e-miles rules say that it takes up to 8-10 weeks for the miles to transfer! Arrgh!!! I know I should have read this more carefully when I first signed up. I just transferred my 500 miles tonight, so at this point, I can only sit back and see how long it takes for them to show up on my Delta account, but I don't want to wait too close to my travel date to see if my miles make it in time, as the ticket price will likely go up. The annoying part is is that I need less than 200 miles to book the award ticket, but Delta only sells miles at 1000 mile increments at $70!

So my question again - does anyone have experience with transferring their miles from e-miles to Delta? And if so, how long did it take?

Alternatively, I need to get <200 miles for <$70.

Thank you,
B

Whoops, sorry! As vickiburton indicated, I misread the op's post and thought he was referring to eRewards when he is actually refering to eMiles. My mistake.

As far as eMiles goes, as indicated by other posters, they do a "sweep" and post shortly after the end of each month. Really glad it all worked out so well for the op and posted so quickly!

FYI -My original reply:

Mine have always posted within a few seconds .... providing I enter the correct SkyMiles# and the names on the two accounts match.

Just transferred eRewards to SkyMiles again on Sunday Nov 4. When I (immediately) checked my Delta account, the SkyMiles had posted.

Mine have usually posted in about 10 days.

I think one poster was talking about erewards and the OP was talking about emiles. I wish I'd paid more attention to how long my Delta points took to post from emiles, but, I can't say for sure. I know it was several weeks. I view both emiles and erewards as programs to just bank away a few points at a time. Of course, the poster is right; erewards post immediately.

Emiles converted to SkyMiles post just after the start of the month following a redemption . My redemptions have posted as early as the first of the following month and sometimes as late as the fourth of the following month.

Reference Point

I requested a deposit to Alaska Airlines on 10/18 and it posted on 11/2. So it took about 2 weeks to Alaska Airlines.

That has also been my experience: a sweep near the beginning of the month. So, for one redemption, near the end of a month, it took 7 days; for another near the beginning, it took 22 days.

My transfers to airlines have never taken less than 2 weeks. Good luck.

Sweep is at beginning of month - if requested in October will post in the first few days of November. If requested in November, will post in first few days of December.

Thank you all for the prompt replies! Alas, I just transferred the points yesterday, November 5, so it sounds like they won't post to my account until next month, which would be too late! And, by the way, I was asking about e-miles, not e-rewards, which apparently takes until the start of the following month to post. Well, I did learn a very good lesson from all of this!

Carabiniero8 Nov 6, 2012 9:15 pm

Update!! Excellent news!!! I actually had the points transfer today!!! I guess it DOES only take 1 day for e-miles to transfer to Delta! Just thought I'd share with everyone! Got my ticket today, which made my day! Thank to all who replied!
