I worked as a marketing recruiter for a while and we had this great candidate who had his phd from harvard and we were trying to pitch him to a high paying client. But the top of his resume said he was magna cum laude Guess why the client never ever could receive his resume thru our emails and eventually skipped over him to hire somebody else? Sometimes "security" and "pc" is soooo stupid |
Mr./Ms. Shito, I hope your sons get married in matrilineal countries!

E-Miles to discontinue Delta as redemption option
Received email spelling out changes occurring 1/1/2013:
Dear El Cid, I am writing to inform you of an upcoming change to the e-MilesŪ program and how it will affect your membership. As of January 1, 2013, you will no longer be able to redeem e-Miles miles for Delta SkyMilesŪ. We are committed to providing you with the best possible experience and I am happy to share that you will now be able to redeem your miles from a rich catalog of options. If you are eligible and prefer to redeem for Delta SkyMiles, you will have until December 30, 2012 to request a deposit. Beginning in January, you will be able to redeem your e-Miles miles for Amazon.com Gift Cards* and Restaurant.com gift cards. We will continue to add even more options in the near future that will include retail gift cards and many more exciting items. And we're not done yet; we are also going to make it easier for you to redeem your miles. To thank you for being a valued member of e-Miles, we are offering you a special bonus of up to 250 e-Miles miles. You can earn 150 bonus miles, 50 miles per month in the months of January, February and March, by reading and responding to at least five (5) offers each month. Upon earning the 150 mile activity bonus, you will receive an additional 100 miles for a total of 250 e-Miles miles. To learn more, please visit this dedicated page that has been setup to explain the upcoming changes to the e-Miles program. |

Same here. I'm ok with the change, in that it typically only garnered about 1,000 DL miles/year for me. :)

Is it only Delta miles that are going away, or are all mileage options going away?
Also, I'm a little annoyed at the timing- there's not a lot of time to reach a redemption threshold in order to still redeem for Delta miles. |
Bolding mine

Anyhow, according to the FAQ page: Your new reward options will be expanded to include all travel partners available in e-Miles So those of us locked into getting Delta SkyMiles should theoretically be able to get miles for other airlines. |
I got this too. Not terribly pleased about it, but since Amazon.com will be a redemption option, will keep participating. tls
|
Is Priority Club going to still be a redemption option? Delta is effectively my only FF program right now, so I guess I'll stick with it if I can redeem towards hotels instead.

So in the end, this appears to be a good thing since other E-miles partners include "US Airways Dividend MilesŪ, MileagePlusŪ, Frontier Airlines EarlyReturnsŪ, Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan™, Southwest AirlinesŪ Rapid RewardsŪ" So those of us locked into getting Delta SkyMiles should theoretically be able to get miles for other airlines.
I have accounts with all four airlines listed above ... but I fly them 0 times. Only Delta do I use for HKG-NRT whenever I manage to get enough. But e-miles really gives me no-miles. There are hotel options? I'll have to check it again next time. A real pain the buttocks company. Spock Seat @:-) |
Are the exchange rates the same across all programmes? (n.b. 500 E-Miles > 500 any airline miles or hotel points)

500 emiles = 1000 HHonors points. Don't know the PC exchange rate.

Do you, or anyone else know what WN's exchange rate is? Right now, I am considering switching my DL xfer to WN, AS or PC. I am annoyed by the termination of DL, since it is how I keep that account active.
