[QUOTE=spurg]LIKE most business travelers, I love getting things free.
Occasionally, free gets me into trouble, though. A few months ago, I struck up a conversation with a well-dressed gentleman at Cucina DellArte, a bar in Palm Beach, Fla. I shared with him a secret for getting into the all-inclusive Club Med resort in the Turks and Caicos called Turkoise.
You scale the wall like a ninja, I explained. And then you persuade a departing tourist to give you a wristband. And voila free drinks!

There is a bit of difference between getting comped or getting discounted rates by bartering or being a frequent flyer, and ripping off hotels. This person is a thief.

The OP seems to have quoted the entire article verbatim. This is inappropriate. Refer to the Flyertalk Guidelines concerning posting copyrighted material. http://www.flyertalk.com/help/rules.php

Heh. So, the OP stole an article about gettings things for free and gave it away for free on Flyertalk? Would the author object?

It was a news article and she credited the source. Seems like that fits into the rule.

On another msg board I frequent, you'll get a warning and possible expulsion from the moderators for copying entire articles or entire song lyrics.
So if you want to quote "Hey Jude" it's best to leave out the "Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah" part.

Randy's rule is you can post a few lines & then a link to the article. Anything more than that can violate copyright & thus violates FT's TOS.
Cheers.
