Fat Wallet.... does it really work?

I've found a lot of good information on their forums, but I have always been curious as to whether or not the rebates actually work. It seems like a potential for fraud, especially giving up some personal information.

thanks!

fatwallet has great information in thier forums. It can be addictive and make you think you need to buy things taht you really don't need! They offer the fatcash rebate program - same as ebates and upromise. I have used it before, they are slow, but they do pay. It is just a portal and thier are many out there to get money, miles and points for your on-line purchases.

They work! There's a lot of junk on there but at the same time if you look carefully you can find some good deals. It's always YYMV with the rebates ... but I find that if you do a good job finding the ones that aren't far fetched (for example, only one rebate is required and there's no catches) you can get some great deals.

I've bought 3 computers from Dell using deals I've found in those forums.

Oh. I just realized that you're asking about the fatcash program. Yes, I've actually gotten a check from them: $35. But it takes a while for them to process it. For example, I could not cash out $20 from buying a Dell laptop until 6 months after the purchase.

I used it to find a coupon for performancebike.com and got fatcash 3% off the pre-discounted price. Snagged a HID for $270 shipped. Before I buy anything I always check around for discount codes, and fatwallet is a pretty good place, though not the only one.

I would be v. wary of a site whose proprietor uses the screen name "Chief Muckety Muck". (j/k)

FW CashBack does indeed work. I have personally received several PayPal rebates. The only problem is it takes a while before you can actually redeem the cash back... but it works, no doubt about that!

Oh yeah. Fatwallet is also great for looking at black friday deals before they officially get released.

(Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving)

I like the freebie forum. Lot of garbage, but some real gems sometimes. Worth a look-see once in a while.

I'm typing on a dell laptop I wouldn't have afforded without the deal offered from fat wallet, I couldn't find anything even close to it anywhere else. Can't speak of the rebates, but the discount codes are great.

It's somewhat like FT, IMHO. I have purchased things that I don't really need because it was a good deal. I also have purchased airline tickets that I don't really need (like ORD-MAN BD fare) because it was a good deal.

Fatwallet.com is great. I've used the coupons listed there a few times. Everything worked. SlickDeals.net is equally good.

FW has such incredibly high traffic, so many deals get posted. On the other hand, you've got to act quickly to capture the deals & save. They've alerted me to several great buys. Do a good job of summarizing the deal & all the codes/savings/rebates that apply.

Fatwallet is excellent for its forums and for Fatcash. For pure coupon codes, try ultimatecoupons.com
