need help w erewards

I have $157 dollars, 3/4 of which expire feb 1st.
I can only redeem for Hiton honors on Oct 8 (90 days since last redemption)...too bad they dont have a $100 redemption for hilton honors. and wait until jan 8th to get another $50 redemption.
I will still be left with $57 or more. I was originally thinking of taking Northwest redemption for $100 and get 2000miles but now that NWA is going bankrupt and I only have 6000miles in my NWA account now, I cant dream of getting to their 25000 mile threshold for award travel.
I am really concerned about getting NWA miles given the bankruptcy position.

Any advise/recommendations? I cant and wont spend a bunch of money of ebags or zales to get some money off. Dont watch many movies either.

american airlines

actually I never flew American adn dont even have an account. But looking through the Hilton honors site, I figured I could take 2000 AA miles for $100 and exchange for hilton points(will get 4000 hilton points or so) but then there is a $25 redemption fee.

Anyway, thanks for the advice. I will probably end up taking a blockbuster for $25,two $50 redemptions for hilton in oct and Jan.

Nope. 5,000 mile minimum.

I believe you can get the Blockbuster award in any name, so you might want to see if someone would use it, or if someone would trade with you.

The $25 FTD award isn't bad.

The FTD one isn't too bad either.

You can't get any extras (like freq. flyer miles tie ins) but if you get the cheapest flowers (ones delivered by a local florist and *not* the FedEx stuff), you can get someone a nice suprise for less than $15 out of your own pocket.

I think the FTD code is good for 6 months so you can even save it for the holidays.

I would open an AA account and take the AA miles. You can do this now and could do it again as early as January 1st. Once per calendar year.
Then join opinon place and start adding to your AA account. (caution don't try and do 2 accounts for 2 differenet family memebers, when they catch you they lock both accounts. It's one per household) http://www.opinionplace.com/

You can add miles with car rentals and IDine and other misc. mile earning opportunities to get to the 5,000 mile to 10,000 Hilton Point threshold in less time than you think.

I'm looking for Blockbuster awards. I've traded for them in the past and used the certs without a problem. PM me if interested and I'll let you know what I have.

You can also see if they will grant you an extension of the points. i got one for both my husband and me. Send them a nice email closer to the expiration date.
