Not to rain on anyone's parade as it seems as though, outwardly, this promotion is working, although noone has received an Ipod yet, several companies I've checked with that are part of this promotion state they are not affiliated with this program at all and do not do business with this company.

I'd be worried that this group is mining credit card information as you sign up for these offers.

OTOH, if you guys get your IPods... hooray, and sign me up!

Any questions I had were resolved when I contacted Apple directly & checked my order on their website. As far as affiliations go - I'm sure the companies use marketing companies that sponser their internet advertising. If you asked me where my company advertised, then I wouldn't be able to tell you everything. Look at the offers - companies like AMEX give referral dollars to people that sign up - it brings them business. I remember in college they used to give away free t-shirt if you signed up for a credit card - and the people who got you to sign-up (a friend of mine did this) got paid 8 bucks per person who applied & was approved - I'm sure the incentive is higher here because of the fact that the overhead costs were low & my friend didn't work for Amex - he worked for another company who probably got paid enough that it could afford to pay my friend 8 bucks per person.

Thank you. I hope this works. I could realy use an IPOD. I plan on using it in my car because about a month ago my car was broken into and my cd player and all of my cds were stolen. I would just take way to long to burn all those cds again, so this 15gb ipod would realy come in handy.

I've signed up using bnarayan1511 link. However when I try to complete the last set. I click on Ancestry link a new window pop up that reads "Not Logged In." I am logged in on freeipods.com. If anyone else has encountered this problem let me know how to continue on. If im not successful tonight signing up I will try at work tomorrow to get signed up on ancestry site.

Jus a quick question for the guys who already got theirs...it said

did you have anybody cancel before those business days time was up, because one of my people already cancelled the ancestry.com like a day later and today I just got that status...it shouldn't make a difference right, they're just going to match IPs with locations on a map and junk like that?

you should be fine. I cancelled mine after 1 day - I doubt it matters - they're probably just verifying that you were registered - they don't care if you stuck around - they'll get their money either way for the referral .
