An "e-Update" E-Mail from e-Rewards

I got this today. Besides being selected as a member of their Preferred Research Panel for 2003, it details some changes to the redemption policies.

Hello, Russ21Atl

Congratulations! You have been selected as a member of our Preferred Research Panel for 2003. This panel is composed of e-Rewards members whose stated interests are especially important to our research clients.

As a participant, you will now have priority over our regular members in receiving surveys. However, we will never send you more surveys than you have selected in your member profile.

A special thank-you for your participation.

To thank you for being a member of our Preferred Research Panel, we will waive our usual currency expiration rules for you. As a result, the e-Rewards currency that you earned prior to January 1, 2003 has been rolled over for an additional year and will remain available to you for Reward redemptions through March 31, 2004.

If you continue as a panel member and an active e-Rewards participant, your currency will continue to roll on a yearly basis. We'll review your profile at the end of the year and let you know if you requalify for panel membership. Should you not qualify, you will have at least 90 days to use any e-Rewards currency that was rolled over from previous years.

In addition to this new opportunity, we would also like to update you on three exciting changes that we are making to our Rewards Chart:

New from Blockbuster: Receive your Rewards by e-mail.
Blockbuster Reward Certificates will be now be delivered immediately by e-mail instead of by mail. That means you can use your Reward Certificates the same day you redeem them (instead of waiting 3 to 4 weeks for them to arrive in the mail).

New from Hilton HHonors: Enjoy Rewards more often.
Effective immediately, you can redeem a Reward from Hilton HHonors once every 90 days, instead of only once per calendar year. We have also simplified the reward choices available from Hilton HHonors.

New from Hertz: Get free days instead of dollars-off.
Also effective immediately, you can enjoy free days instead of dollar savings when you redeem a Reward with Hertz (subject to a minimum rental length requirement). Hertz Rewards are delivered electronically. Claim one today and you can use it on a trip tomorrow!

Once again, please accept our most sincere thanks for your continuing participation in e-Rewards. We look forward to offering you many new reward opportunities as a Preferred Research Panel Member.

Sincerely,
The e-Rewards Team

Isn't this email 4 months late? It seems to be saying that rewards earned before 1/1/03 aren't going to expire on 3/31/03.

Has anyone had any luck with the Hilton award? I've been trying to get the $50 hilton award for 3,000 points for the last few days but e-rewards keeps telling me that the award is available once per year and since I got a hilton award in the 1st quarter, I can not do it again until next year (even though the member agreement clearly states that the award is available once per quarter). I have traded e-mails with customer service and after they finally acknowledged that it is really available once per quarter, they requested my hilton and e-rewards information via e-mail to complete the transaction (which I refused by informing them that I was uncomfortable sending that info via e-mail). They have not responded to my request to do it on their site and I'm still getting rejected when I tried it today).

I asked Erewards about redeeming Hilton Hhonors points every 90 days and I got the following reply dated May 22th:

Good Afternoon

"Thank you for contacting e-Rewards. This is something that may occur in the near future at this time we do not have a specific date.

"If you have any additional questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Cathi Gumpert "

Whom do you believe?

I received almost the exact same reply from Cathy Gumpert. That's when I copied and pasted the relevant section of the member agreement into an e-mail and sent it back to her. Cathy responded by apologizing that it was a new change to the program ("it was just updated yesterday") and "they" forgot to tell her. She requested the information over e-mail, to which I responded (as I wrote above) that I didn't want to send that info via e-mail and asked for a better option (no response yet). The strange thing is that based on the timing of our posts, it looks like she admitted her mistake to me before she sent the erroneous e-mail to you.

Have you tried to Refresh when you are on the redemption page. Sometimes cookies on your computer keep you from seeing the correct information because they keep reloading old information.

As of a few minutes ago, still getting the same dumb message:

"You have already selected an award for this sponsor in the current calendar year."

Guess they don't know what they are doing, planning to do and when they are actually going doing these changes!!!!

My wife, who never got enough emails for an award, lost most of her e-rewards points on June 30th.

They've decided its time for points to expire.

I guess its time to cancel.
