Best $1.00 gift certificates money can buy.
I like them so much, I'll be buying another
on April 1st. It isn't clear, though, when you see an offer labled "monthly," whether it's a calendar month or every 30 days. Anyone care to guess?

It seems the ecerts can only be got in $5 increments now, bummer

In the View Cart screen you can type in a 1 and then update. It accepts it that way. In the screen where you enter the gift certificate, you're right, in that it keeps updating the 1 back to a 5.

My thoughts on this Tupperware situation:

The $5 minimum is OK by me. I'm not interested in burning the e-cert. Rather, I'll eventually buy something with it; as long as I can use the cert later (hopefully for another 800 MyPoints!) I really don't care if Tupperware gets an additional $4 float for a short period.

THE SWIZZLE STICKS ARE NOW $10.99!

Methinks the Tupperware gang are wise to the ways of frequent fliers.
Most of their stuff, frankly, is overpriced. If they end the 800-point promo soon and forever, at least I've gotten something I can use, at a decent (if not exactly "bargain") price and the 800+ points for less than $20.
I compare that against a $69 Hampton Inn room that yields me 863 points (yes, I know, plus the whopping 100 airline miles - then again the Hampton room has varying taxes).

I see that. Maybe it's because of what we've learned in Economics: Supply vs. Demand.
They saw all these zillions of swizzle sticks orders from Flyertalk readers, and then tried to pump up the production at the swizzle stick factory to 100%. Even with extra overtime they couldn't keep up. That along with external factors (couldn't acquire enough trucks and rail cars to ship them, plus ran out of room in their vast warehouses to store swizzle sticks) caused the price increase.
But no biggie, I have plenty of spoons in my house to mix drinks with.

Made a Tupperware purchase this morning. The Mypoints popup for points asked user name & password then keeps sending me in a loop or tells me page not available, never giving me conformation of points.

Points Scrounger Mar 11, 2003 9:50 am

The Tupperware site appears to accept only one gift cert per purchase (unlike Lands End).

mareh Mar 11, 2003 10:31 am

I'm pretty sure you can still stack giftcertificates at Tupperware as well. You put the next one in once the first has been applied.

Points Scrounger Mar 11, 2003 12:48 pm

If that's true then I'll buy another cert next month instead of the corkscrew. If it isn't so, there's not much else at Tupperware that seems reasonably priced.

I just got a Mypoints email with this offer, and followed the link (I'd already done it via the website).

Got the 800 points confirmation.

I didn't think until after the fact that I should have used my last gift cert to buy the new gift cert!

The confirmation popup said good once every 7 days, so I guess I'll try again next week and see if it works to apply the gift cert to pay for the gift cert... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Bad news first: you can't pay for the gift certificate with a gift certificate.

Good news are: contrary to messages above $1 gift cert still works ! And, though it says "monthly", it still gave me 800 points window.

I bought a certificate from Tupperware on the 1st. So you think I can do it again without risking wasting a dollar, or should I wait until next month?

Yay, I just got the $1gc, I hope it posts tomorrow! Neophyte, how much time elapsed between your 2 purchases?
