Well you all must be a lot smarter than me cause I can't get it to take less than $10.

Maybe I need to go to computer school.

Burgerwars - Please email me. I have a question to ask of you.

Thanks.

I also tried and 10$ was the min bid I could do. Please mail me if you have any secret tips.

DreamCowboy Apr 3, 2003 3:00 pm

Same here. Please email me. I tried for a long time and all I got was the $10 min.

My $5 gc purchase a couple of days ago went through fine. The 800 points have already been transferred to Hilton successfully.

Unlike last month's $5 gc, this one qualifies for a "purchase" as I show 10 mypoints pending in 30 days.

(I'm kind of hesitant to "spill the beans" here, but it's not anything complicated.)

As suggested below, I pulled my post. But for those who had time to see it and had a bit of technical knowledge, you should have been able to figure it out from my hint.

I agree with TravelLover, burgerwars. You have given it away to anyone who has any technical know how, including, perhaps, MyPoints/Tupperware lurkers.

To those who don't have technical know how, this was and will only continue be Greek to you. Sorry.

backward_swannats Apr 4, 2003 9:29 pm

Burgerwars, thanks for hanging out on the limb, but I agree, pulling the post was the smart thing. Anyone with the technical savvy to do this would have figured it out from your first one-word hint anyway.

I've lost two accounts with MyPoints for much less than this, so I'll keep my hands off this one. (One for clicking a link from a bb post, the other, well, I can't figure out what I could have possibly done wrong there. But there's no arguing with them.)

Great board, will keep checking for more MyPoints tips! (Well, ones that don't require hacking, anyway.)

Comparing to what I've seen above my find is tame and safe (?), so I decided to publish it.
1. Put any items in the card
2. Add $5 GS to the card.
3. Delete item #1
4. Check out
Seems completely legit.
But I'll pull it out if you say so...

frank3355 Apr 5, 2003 9:57 am

OK, I have to know, what the hell is a "bb post"?

paradocs Apr 5, 2003 10:28 am

bb = bulletin board (such as FT)

Apparently, there is a problem with clicking on links to mypoints. You want to click from the mypoints site itself or your own emails. Someone more sophisticated may want to chime in here.

MyPoints codes their e-mail offers to go with the MyPoints customer they're sending it to. It has been mentioned here that MyPoints has disabled accounts for people who responded to someone elses e-mail offer. For that reason, you shouldn't forward one of your offers to a friend, thinking they'll get points.

As far as my MyPoints account, I put in my first redemption for $100 in gift cards, since my balance was over 15,000 points. Did this about a week ago. Yesterday I noticed my account is "disabled." It has been mentioned here they do that on your first redemption, but I did just e-mail them as to what's going on.

With my account, I never clicked on links not for me, but have done the Tupperware, Amtrak and Zappos thing. No hacking, though. Just made very, very small purchases. But I'll inform everyone here as to how this all turns out.
