e-rewards - AA Miles

Do you think it's worth waiting till March (expiration dead line), hoping that higher transfer levels will be added?

This stinks. And you have a three month window within which you must fly.

Receive 2,500 AAdvantage bonus miles in addition to any other bonus miles you may qualify for when you use AA.com to purchase a one-way or round-trip flight on American Airlines, American Eagle, or American Connection and travel between February 1, 2003 and April 30, 2003. Miles will be credited after travel is completed. Bonus miles do not count toward elite status qualification. Bonus will be posted within 3-4 weeks after flight activity is posted to the traveler's AAdvantage account. Bonus applies to person traveling. No registration is required.

That BITES
We waited for them to put this in place. They might as well of saved their time. I saved points in order to turn them in on this. Very disappointing and pretty much worthless for me.

What if you have already purchased a ticket and fly within that period?

This is very disappointing.

What's the next best thing? Blockbuster coupons or Delta certificate? Is the Delta discount a real discount on any fare?

I know the 180 by E-Rewards on the AA awards is not great, but I keep reminding myself that "beggars can't be choosers". I am in no way inferring that anyone here is a beggar, but just mean that E-Rewards is free, and getting something is better than getting nothing. While getting AA miles would have been nice, none of us had to pay membership fees, etc., and so getting the new AA award or any of the existing awards still puts us all "ahead".

Well, then, you know what to do this year. Once you hit $100, you stop wasting time on earning any more e-Rewards so that you don't lose anything at the end of March next year.

That hurts - so much expectations, so little output. That's like a one more AA promo, it runs only for 3 month too.

By the way, while checking the rewards chart, I've found some worthy $50 and $100 rewards - "(Two) Free One - Day Lift Ticket valid at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone".
Amazingly, these are really close to US $ value ; too bad it is narrow, I'd never travel to these resorts.

And finally - I wonder how strictly they enforce one reward per year rule. Can one try to redeem the second set of HHonors points or will website prevent it ? Or will it be rejected later ?
