I'm not seeing max in quicklist anymore....(but my link is really slow today - so it could just be me)

Elvis (aka Max) has left the building (aka Quicklist). Still in Departments for 5. Here bonus bonus bonus...

Max for 5 in Department/Megastores. Ah, that new day glow....

Still just 5 pts. at 10:33 EST

Got a second 5 points today at 11:45 EST

Same extra 5 points for me, Max is being generous after no bonuses for days....

That was strange. I couldn't see him until I went to Quicklist and then back to flowers. Oh well, 5 easy points.

Yes, this is odd. I also didn't get Max until I went into quicklist and then Flowers. On top of that - the Max symbol doesn't appear on the "Visit Web Sites" page under "Earn points". I thought that was how we found out if Max was "in" each day.

And, while I'm questioning things, why is Max still a pirate? Halloween has been over for some time. Why not Pilgrim Max or something? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

I just got a message that Max is in flowers for 1000 but I can't get in.

I got the same message. Had to go to Quicklist first, and THEN to flowers as others suggested. Only 5 points though http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

I got the message, but I think it's another false alarm. It's busy right now, but I got in immediately after that message, a few times since. No 1000 points at all....

what gives? i just got into this max alerts thing. i went to the flowers section and saw max for the first time ever hovering with a sign that said "1000 points office depot" or something. i clicked on the ******* and the page would not load. i kept refreshing and it took me to the office depot site with a pop up that said that i already had the 5 points added.

i'm confused: the sign said 1000 points, but i only got 5. do i have to shop in office depot to get the 1000?

Same tghing happened to me. If points don't show up. I am planning to complain. This is the first bonus I have bee able to catch.

MyPoints is crawling slow right now, even on my DSL connection. I just tried to get the bonus and got the "Sorry - you already got 5 points" message.

I think many people here are confused - Max's banner always says "Earn up to 1000 points for shopping at Office Depot", especially when he's worth 5 pts. You find out if he's bonus when you click and the pop-up comes up (and I've got him several times since the initial 1000 pt claim, and he's not been a bonus during that time).

Also, the 1000 points for spending a certain amount on Office Depot products (what the banner talks about) is not the bonus. For the short bonus period, anyone who clicks on Max is worth the pre-set bonus (250, 500, or 1000).

The problem is that the (Yahoo) e-mail group's messages take too long to receive. Max is only worth the big points for a few minutes at a time. Today's e-mails took 41 minutes to reach my inbox. Max was back to 5 points long before I got the e-mail. Too many people in the group, perhaps.

I got the email just a minute after it was sent, and I went immediately and no bonus... the previous times people here have caught him, he's been around for at least 15-20 minutes at bonus levels..... maybe I was just unlucky, or (my belief) it was a false alarm (as no one else got him here...)

I love that like five people have tried to start a new thread and this one just keeps kicking.

I had the most frustating time ever trying to catch Max. I had just checked the flowers section, and then 1 minute later I get the alert that he was worth 1,000 points, so I try to get there as soon as I can, and the whole $% http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/thumbsup.gif@##$ thing is slow beyond belief.

Looks like half the civilized world is looking for this guy, and everybody and their mother was trying to get the 1,000 points.

Calm down, everyone, it seems it was a false alarm today. The misleading little banner on Max says, "Earn up to 1000 points shopping at Office Depot". That has to do with the page you'll be taken to after you click on Max, not the number of points you'll get. You won't know that until you click on Max and get the congratulations popup.

Max is still in Flowers - but I had to reload the page 3 times before he showed up.

I can get max to show up by reloading the screen....but i am having a hard time clicking on him. It doesn't seem to register most of the time. Anyone else having this problem?

Max just reset. I just got my second 5 points today. Try it again.

A thought:

If I were the person at MyPoints controlling Max, and if I were aware of this forum and the Yahoo mailing list, I would put Max somewhere for 5 points all morning, the also put him somewhere else for a brief period of time for a bigger point award. That way the big points would more likely go to those who actually search through the pages to find him, which is what I would be trying to encourage people to do.

Now, I'm confused. Max isn't in Flowers any longer as far as I can tell. I've clicked into it several different ways - refresh - through quicklist - etc. So, I checked the "Visit Websites" page and there is the symbol which is supposed to mean Max is somewhere waiting for us. I then clicked through all the shopping pages... and no Max anywhere.

Has anyone ever found him on a second or later page in a department? (Such as page 2 of Computers, etc).

More to the point - anyone know where he happens to be now that its 3:30 EST?

Same problem as yesterday. The Max symbol appears in the "Earn Points/ Visit Websites" page, which is supposed to be a clear signal that Max is lurking somewhere anxious to hand over our 5 points. Again, I checked every shopping department and could not locate Max.

Yes, the last week or so it's like you can't nail down Max. Very frustrating. I think I am getting credit for the 5 points. Plus, often the site loads so darn slowly.

Isn't it about time our friend Max appeared again?

Tuesday - 12/03 - 8:30AM EST. Still no Max today. Does anyone remember when the 500 - 1,000 pt. bonus period ends? I remember it was anounced for some finite period.

I think the bonus points promo ends 12/31/02. I've only caught him for 1,000 once, all others were 5.
