Looks like Max has gone back into hibernation.

I notice that when you click on Max it no longer says that you might be able to get bonus points from him later in the day. Guess the party's over.

I just clicked on Max, and it said this:

"Sorry! Michael, you've already earned this 5-Point award today. If he hasn't already, Max might offer a Bonus Award later today, so check back! If you miss the Bonus Award today, try again when Max appears next. (The Bonus Award is only available for a short time each day Max appears, then he goes back to 5 Points.)"

So I don't think the party is over quite yet.

Anyone notice that you can get your points less than 24 hours since you last received them.

It used to be you had to wait 24 hours to get more points, but now, it just seems you have to wait until next calender day.

I just received my 5 points today, and received yesterdays points in the afternoon...much less than 24 hours.

I got 5 points this morning from Max. Just now (4.35pm EST) I clicked him again and got another 5 points. That (getting points more then once on the same day) usually only is possible if he changed value, so that means that he already changed to a bigger bonus value and changed back again http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

I clicked him this morning and got points. Clicked him 503 pm EST and no second-time-in-a-day points. Not that I'm holding out hope for a bonus Max today, but since we can click him more than once in a 24 hour period without a bonus, I'm not gonna assume this means he's been a bonus.

Anybody see this?

Special note: MyPoints is owned by United Airlines. MyPoints filed for bankruptcy simultaneously with the United Airlines filing for same. (See page 4.) This does not mean that MyPoints is out of business. Perhaps it will be sold. I recommend continued use of MyPoints for the points earned just by clicking, since there is nothing to loose by doing this. But I also recommend using your points for awards immediately or whenever possible.

Even though Max has not offered a bonus since 12/3, I was told by CS today that the bonus promotion runs through 12/31. Hopefully there will be a couple more chances.

Since it has been 16 days since Max offered a bonus, I guess MyPoints decided this promotion wasn't such a good idea after all.

Perhaps that should have read "until the 13th" instead of "through Dec. 13th" Max went AWOL on us on the 12th and hasn't been seen since.

I never scored on the big bonus points but I would have enjoyed the 25 points we would have earned from a daily visit from Max between the 13th and today.

I hope that, at least, when we see him again he's finally ditched the Halloween Pirate costume.

I don't know what I miss more: that triangle headed bugger of the excitement of checking the S.P.A.M. page and seeing this thread. I figured that since I couldn't make Max apeear the least I could do was bump this thread.

Why not email MyPoints and let them know how much you miss Max?

Maybe if they get enough concern / complaints / get well cards for him from MyPoints members they will track him down... :-)

I think the problem is that United Airlines is in bankruptcy. Mypoints being owned by them, can't any longer afford to give away free points.
I've noticed that I haven't received any bonusmail for close to a week now.

I wouldn't worry too much yet. As I recall there wasn't any emails last year right after the holidays.

Wrong. I've received 5 Bonus emails between Christmas Day and this morning.

I may have gotten 5 - 10 points since xmas. But nothing like the 10-30 pts per day just befor xmas. Same thing last year.

I think it's just a matter of what the advertisers are paying for. Obviously, there will be more activity during a period of increased shopping, like Christmas.

OK, so the best I can figure is that max was last seen on 12/12- over one month now! Do we start a pool on the day and time he will reappear, if he ever does! My guess is 1/21 @10 am. I have absolutely no idea why that time and date! Any other takers?

I heard max will show up groundhogs day on feb. 2nd only if the grounhog sees his shadow.

I thought the "where is max" game ended by Christmas! My guess is that there will be a new promotion in the near future.
