Hrm, now the big internal debate begins... when I get alerted to 250 pts, is it better to get 250 guarenteed or wait til he's worth more later, knowing I might not catch him then.....

Is it one bonus/day or is it one bonus/point level/day??

ethereality, It is my understanding that you can get points multiple times a day as long as the value on Max changes. The other day I got 1005 (1000+5). You can usually get more easy points the next am if Max has not yet been removed.

Ditto here: still 250 in Computers at 1.49 pm EST

I clicked on him early got 5 points and later clicked on him again and got 250....so don't wait to click on him....you get points it looks like each time his point value changes.

Since these things are so time sensitive, and I want to drive up my post count.

Still good @ 11.55 MST. Yay 250!

I think it's one bonus and one regular point level per day. I got 1005 pts the other day too, but I think that's the max Max. =) Of course, if someone posts 500 or 1000 later today when I'm online, I'll try again and report on the results.

That Yahoo group worked well for this. Unfortunately there is a bit too much "chatter" there so I've gotten far more emails than I would have liked.

The yahoo system worked too well. I got 13 email messages telling me he was 250 then 5 points. One message is enough folks. Maybe its not all flyertalkers.

Agreed. The system worked magnificently, but since it's coming to my office email address, it is a bit too much, considering that I get a lot of business mail.

Maybe we should consider spinning off to our own group with the agreement of not flooding each others mailboxes?

I guess people should refrain from posting the reducution in value to 5 pts in the mail and instead post it here.
There were only 5-6 members initially and hence I guess the rest are all from here.

Only 3 people were on the list before we Fters jumped in, so it was mostly FTers who did all the emailing (Thus spinning off to our group is basically already in action). But I agree with the idea of one post when bonus point are found, or Max is located in the morning, and then people moving "i got it" posts back here to the board. Some people's mail systems are a bit slower than other, so we have to allow for a bit of doubling-up, but I think it'll settle. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Does anyone know if the MAX with the big points LOOKS any different than the one with the regular 5 points? Or do you just have to keep clicking every so often to find out if the points have increased.

The above pattern must have changed today. Max is still there, for 5 points only, but my guess is that the bonus might have happened earlier today.
