I just checked in books/media and was advised that I already got my points today. How can that be, this is the first time I've gone to MP in more than 24 hours.

Any ideas out there?

Max still there, but I missed the 1,000 points

RATS

I got him for 500, and he seems to appear when I am at meetings, last time was just pure luck, 10 minute break.

And I am in meetings for the next 5 months http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

I believe based on the FAQs that this is only an option if you're the starter of a thread. If someone knows otherwise, I'm sure many of us would be interested. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

TravelLover Nov 5, 2002 11:20 am

Based on past behavior Max is probably gone for the day.

The idea of email is an excellent idea. I keep missing max because I get busy and forget to check the thread (work keeps getting in my way *grin*). But I get a beep when I get email.

Anyone willing to start an email group list to mention MAX sighting? I would keep it, but seeing that I get busy and forget to check the thread half the time it would be worthless.

I would be willing to compile the initial email listing for us to use if you want to send me your email address. My email is [email protected]

If you are willing to be the official MAX email alerter....let me know. Either that or we could all be email alerters and carry our own group list.

Email lists can be constructed so that anyone on the list can post to it. Similar to this forum, except that the information arrives via email. Getting on the list is automated. All the creator of the list has to do is monitor it.

This is a Yahoo group I just looked at for posting MyPoints alerts. It appears to be open membership, and you can set it so that when someone posts you get sent an email. Easier to use an already set up method than make our own lists.

I love Yahoo groups - there's one for everything! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

The Yahoo! Group looks good - I just joined. Hopefully now I'll actually be able to catch the 500/1000 point Max. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Dumb question alert!

I have a yahoo account and email address. I would want these alerts to come to my office email address so that I would see it immediately.

I tried signing up using that address, and I found that it is published in the member list of the group.

I don't want to invite any spam into my office email, so I immediately deleted my membership.

Does anyone know how to get around this?

Mary

NatalieLovesMiles Nov 6, 2002 9:10 am

Mary, why not sign up on yahoo with a second email account, one which you use only at work, and only for this?

ethereality Nov 6, 2002 9:37 am

Is this for the msn group or the yahoo group? At least for the yahoo, you can go into your yahoo personality (which since you have a yahoo account you already have) and create a new profile. For the profile, you can add and verify your work address, then choose "do not list my email address" for the profile. When you look at the member list, it gives the first part of email address "example@H..." so that bit of it would show up, but no more. I hope this helps!

once again, the now buried yahoo link: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Mypointsalerts/ http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
