Reward chart is now online:
Points - UAL miles
2500 - 100
3500 - 200
5000 - 300
7000 - 400
10000 - 500
13500 - 600
17000 - 700
19000 - 800
Strange schedule, as the redemption rates actually go down as the point levels go up.
The best bet is 5,000 points for 400 UAL miles, followed by either the 3,500 or 7,000 levels.

E-Poll has posted its new rewards schedule on its site. Apparently it was designed by someone who got a D- in remedial high school math (perhaps one of my former students). If you want United Airlines miles, you can pay anywhere from 16.67 points to 24.29 points per mile. Now that would be expected if the cheaper miles were for the higher number of points converted, since that would encourage people to stay with the program. But nooo, the best deal is for when you convert 5000 points to miles. Hmm...
When compared to other things you can get, the miles seem quite expensive. For example: for 3500 points you can get $5 of gas at Arco or 200 miles. That values the miles at 2.5 cents per mile. And it gets worse as the points to convert go up.
Perhaps (with our help?) they will figure this out. I suspect United is charging them too much for miles, and that E-Poll is new to this mileage rewards thing. Maybe they will offer other miles from other airlines for fewer points later. In the meantime, doing the polls is easy and gets us something of real value for doing them.
You may read about E-Poll and find links to it (which give me referral credit - thanks) on my site below. Click on Free Frequent Flyer Miles in the left menu, then on Miles for Clicking in the top menu.
