Gold Points visa terms
I posted this query on the visa board, but had no takers, so I thought I would ask the SPAM Mavens. The Gold Points website says its credit card offers three points for every dollar of "retail purchase tranaction." Normally the phrase would be "dollar spent" or somesuch and I am wondering if a retail purchase transaction means only something you can hold in your hand, as opposed to a meal, a payment to a long distance company, a doctor's fee, and so on.

Where is that from? By my calculation they're worth 3.75 cents.

The value depends on where you are using them. If you cash in 5000 goldpoints for 500 frequent flyer miles (using 2 cents per mile), then they equate to .2 cents per point.
I like to use them at TGIFridays. You can use 1250 points for an appetizer or dessert value up to $8.00. That equates to .64 cents per point.
Does anyone know of a higher rate return rate for goldpoints?

Keep in mind that the 4 goldpoints to 1 mile ratio is not the ratio that everyone can make claims to. You must be enrolled through Radisson to take advantage of that 4:1.
Those who have enrolled via TGI Friday's or some other partner will get the less appealing 10:1 ratio.
