Milesource redemptions - grrr ...
I've been saving my points up for a $50 Marriott gift certificate. 4,500 points were required. I've doing the Click Fix thing everday, working up my referrals, etc.
Today, I reach 4,502 points.
I go to redeem the points for the cert, but they upped the redemption requirement to 6,000 points.

If you go to the area to get a SUPERCERTIFICATE from Giftcertificates.com, you can then get a 50.00 Marriott certificate for "only" 5500 miles. It used to be 4500 but they changed in several months ago if I recall.
Of course the better value is to wait for a 100.00 certificate for 9000 miles, but we will be too old to use the certificates by then or milesource will be long gone.

My wife and I had points for a $125 and a $100 gift certificate when they changed the point structure a few months ago. Our point value dropped $25 each. We cashed out for a $100 and $75 gift certificate. I haven't bothered with them since.
Last week I bought a Sony CD Walkman at Circuit City and I only had to pay the tax for my $100 new toy. Looking forward to flying with my music next week.
Milesource had its uses.

I have been hearing MileSource is in trouble. Lately, I am never getting my miles posted. Six emails, over six weeks - no response. Once I got enough to cash in, I did. I would NOT be doing any purchases through them anymore. I am sure we will be reading about the next dot bomb called Mile...

I have been missing a 1000 mile credit! I applied for the E-card visa and the card arrived fast. I thought it was milesource that I went through and the points never came (almost two months now). I wrote Milespree and they swear I did not sign up via them, either. I do know for fact that it was one of them. I called First USA and they are trying to verify the link that the application came from, but I should not have to do this much leg work. I don't tell friends about this site anymore and I don't visit it on a regular basis.

Last night I happened to look at mileage requirements for free round trip air
travel on Milesource.com and was astonished to see that they had suddenly raised
the needed points from 25,000 to 57,600 without any notice or announcement of any type.
I've been redeeming my Milesource points for Giftcertificate.com gift certificates. Although, I hear that GiftCertificates.com is on the rocks and could be gone soon.

I'll be sorry to see them go. I did well by them while they lasted. Earned a big supercertificate, plus recently made the most of their magazine subscriptions. That 2k subscription redemption is good until 5-31, for any of you considering making a final cashing in.

I got a call from them today. They said they are really trying to catch up on the redemptions. I told her that I cashed in earlier than I wanted to because I was afraid they would be gone. She said they more than understand that sentiment with other loyalty sites going down. They have extra staff in from other departments to help member services get through this. We will see. I also told her that most of us are willing to be patient if our calls and emails would be answered. Being ignored only fuels the fire when we hear rumors, etc. This rep mentioned that they do read message boards. That shows that they care what we think.

I am sending this e-mail in general due to past problems mentioned by other folks with Milesource. I called them at 212-629-3069 last week and left a message on 6/15/01 with Dave Miller. This was per the suggestion of fschr, thanks, who gave me the Milesource number. Since there has not been a return call I called their office again and got a women named Mariola, who claimed she would call me right back. When I insisted on waiting, she claimed she was on with someone else, then in a rude tone asked me to hang up & she would call me back. Anyone have any suggestions on whom to talk to at this company to get miles awarded that are due as well as awards that are due. Apologize for the length of the post. I am extremely aggravated. Thanks in advance.

Paul Fino, CFO 212-629-3069. These people are on their way out. Good riddance. Also file a complaint with the NY Attorney General in NY. They got their attention. Can be done online http://www.oag.state.ny.us/complaints/complaints.html

I don't understand this comment. I checked the awards chart at http://www.milesource.com/spend/trav...nd/a_round.php
and found that you can still get a round trip ticket within the lower 48 for 25000 "miles".

I have nowhere near enough points to ever consider that reward. Getting a movie ticket out of them took several months, though. The tickets were mailed 6 weeks after the date printed on the cover letter!

Hmmm.it's back down to 25K. Perhaps it was a glitch in their system.
