Greenpoints and Giftcertificates.com
I just used $600 of gift certificates from Giftcertificates.com through Greenpoints (12,000 points) to buy 3 AA tickets.
Bonus! - The AA agent told me that for some reason they can't figure out, these tickets are not charged US Tax if bought with the gift certificates. Saved me about $40, plus the $15 free from Giftcertificates.com!
I love this board!

Too bad that AA certificates are not available at GreenPoints anymore.

AA 500-mile certs aren't available, but the AA gift certificates appear to still be available at giftcertificates.com.
I wonder if you could use the gift certificates to buy, refundable fares, then return the tickets for a cash refund. It's not particularly ethical, but it could net lots of greenpoints.

Probably wouldn't work because they usually insist on refunding to the original funding source. For example, you can't buy a ticket with your AA miles card, then have it refunded to your plain old First USA card. In this case they would probably insist on refunding AA gift certificates.

He might be referring to GC.com's reward program. You receive 5% credit on your purchase (excluding coupon values) and once you accumulate $25 worth of credit, you can redeem it for $25 purchase. BTW you have to register and login to your account in order get reward credit.
There are only 2 promos available right now http://www.valueconsumer.com/Results...rtificates.com .
