Just over 6 hour delay, no reason given.

Various costs incurred including hotel and taxi cancellation.

Do I have rights to get these costs covered?
Provided they don't claim extraordinary circumstances, which they probably will start with, they are due to pay compensation under EU261/UK261. Which is 250 Euro. Consequential losses on subsequent arrangements are not covered by the airline, that'll be for your travel insurance.

Will Ryanair cough up?

I was on the delayed FR2189 from ZAG yesterday [1,344km] - which Ryanair has already said was due to a technical problem with the original aircraft

timings of arrival into STN

exited runway 2:57 late
stopped taxi 3:03 late
seat belt sign off 3:04 late

I know that EU261 is defined as gate to gate - but do Ryanair abide by this?
does anybody have similar experience around the 3 hour timing with Ryanair?

The important time is when doors are opened on arrival and you are allowed to disembark. If that is more than 3 hours after the scheduled arrival time then compensation is payable.

It looks like the gate arrival time was 23:07 so 3 hours 2 minutes late arriving at the gate. So yes, compensation is payable. See https://www.flightaware.com/live/fli...650Z/LDZA/EGSS

I'd forgotten that FlightAware includes "gate arrival" time - very useful
thank you
