Ryan air Backback question
First time flying them (TNG-MAD) - My backpack is slightly larger than the size on the web site they is the limit for a Backpack is this a situation where I need to put it in a sizer and I can smoosh it down to the correct size (its a backpack and smosshable) or are they going to measure it and be un cool about it. I have read and herd the horror stories of Ryan air so want to see if I need to use smaller Backpack or can use my traveling companion for many years not huge but 3-4 inches over length. not back to the brim so can be folded/smooshed to fit a bin sizer - Thanks!

My experience is that as long as you have a single piece of baggage of a reasonable size you will be fine. Normally they look for folks with 2 pieces of baggage who have not paid for priority boarding.

I agree. With a reasonably dimensioned backpack on your back there is a high chance that no one at the gate will notice and you will be allowed to board without fuzz. The gate agents are looking for trolleys, large carry-ons, 2 pcs of hand luggage etc.
Anyway, if singled out you will be fine as long as you are able to squeeze the backpack into the "sizer"; no one will measure your backpack.
