£10 for reserved seating on Ryanair

Depending on how cheap you purchased the fare, and managed to avoid any additional bag charges etc, this would perhaps be tempting if the seat fee + fare was less than BA for example.

I have made the comment more representative to real events in bold.

Amazed easyJet (who are far more business orientated) didn't do this first.
Will this £10 reservation fee be in addition to some fee to actually sit in extra leg room seats in the first place?
Still won't be flying ryanair....

I recently booked (at my Dw's request) flights from Stansted to Klagenfurt, which is a much easier drive to our destination than SZG.
We'd have paid about £240 each to fly BA, but the total for two on Ryan Air is £196, made up of about £40 in base fares, plus baggage, admin, etc. I don't like RA and worry about reliability etc, but on price and punctuality (usually), they are difficult to beat.
It's not usually worth paying extra for priority boarding on the return, but can be good at Stansted.

No, but it'll be separate from the credit/debit card fee, the baggage fee, the online check-in fee, the offline check-in fee, the your-carry-on-is-21cm-deep-and-we-only-allow-20cm fee, and the experience of having random crap sold to you every second you're on board.

On my 35 minute in the air 7 am flight from Prestwick to Dublin on Monday, the 'random crap' included a full bar run(decent sized cups of coffee) and the choice of several different hot dishes for breakfast, as well as the usual sandwiches etc. The 4 CC worked non-stop for the whole flight- quite impressive I think!

Or one view is that it downgrades the usefulness of Priority Boarding, which meant you were usually at the front of the queue and could bag a front 2, or exit seat !
So the question then is... is this really aimed at squeezing more out of those who were happy to pay for Priority Boarding by devaluing the Priority Boarding product, as regardless of your priority, someone might be booked into the seat ?

I don't understand why so many people refuse to fly them when they have never tried.
Yes often BA can be as cheap or cheaper by the time you pay for bags, checkin etc etc but for a cheap weekend break you can't go wrong sometimes.
I have even given up paying for priority boarding as often half the flight has it.
I know I have said it before but a £39 return to RAK was a fantastic price and at £300 less than BA it was a no brainer.

I can see a huge number of "you're sitting in my seat" situations when a passenger who has reserved a seat turns up after a person who hasn't reserved one...
I can't understand how they will manage a half-seat-selected, half-free-for-all seating policy.

don't BA charge for reserved seating too? i.e. to select your own seat even in J there is a charge I thought?
I flew with Easyjet last month and paid for the priority boarding or whatever they call it. Get to pick your seat, and a separate truly fast track queue for boarding. More expensive airlines fail to get this right, Easyjet only charge 8 quid for it.
