SVO-3

Do any of you have any news on when Sheremetyevo 3 is opening?

I have heard Spring of 2009, but I am not at all sure.

Anyways, I can't for the new SVO!

Will not SVO-2 still handle all domestic traffic?

There's no domestic traffic at SVO2. It's SVO1 you must be thinking of.

I know that Svo-2 is intl traffic only.

However, I read somewhere that when Svo-3 opens, Svo-2 will handle domestic traffic and svo-1 will be converted to a general aviation/private jet terminal.

SU plan to operate all of their flights, both international and domestic, out of SVO3. The only exception - and it's been a year since I last heard of it - might be their (and DL's) flights to the US that might stay at SVO2

So would Svo-2 remain the international terminal for all non SU flights?
What is going to happen to Svo-1?

SVO3 was supposed to be a SkyTeam hub, but according to the latest rumors AF/KLM doesn't want to move to SVO3.

Whats the source for this? I find it interesting that AF/KL doesn't want to move to a terminal that promises to be on par with international standards and instead want to stay at the pit of hell, a.k.a. SVO-2.

Apparently they're trying to blackmail SU, which is going to do all ground handling at T3, to have the fees lowered a bit. AF-KL will have their offices at T3 and will in all likelyhood end up operating out of there, too

I rarely pray about such things as airport openings but "Please God. No, no, no. This can't be. Just let it be another DATE lounge dragon choosing to be mean. Please, please, please!!!!"
