Trans-Siberian & Trans-Mongolian Itinerary Questions

Am planning to do the Trans-Siberian and Trans-Mongolian Railway next month (June, 2015) and am just at the point of looking at obtaining train tickets. From people who have done the trip before or have extensive knowledge of these areas, I wanted to get feedback on my below tentative itinerary.

-train from Moscow to Vladimir, bus to Suzdal, overnight in Suzdal

-return to Vladimir by bus, continue on trans-Siberian

-possibly stop either Perm of Kungar to tour Kungar ice caves

-stop Yekaterinburg

-possibly stop Novosibirsk, bus to Tomsk for overnight

-possibly overnight (1 or 2 nights) in Krasnoyarsk for side trip to Stolby Nature Reserve

-stop Irkutsk, tour Taltsy Museum for Wooden Architecture, Olkhorn Island, stay Nikita’s Homestead, possibly hydrofoil Irkutsk to Olkon

-interested in slow train between Irkutsk and Ulan-Ude to see south shore of Lake Baikal

-stop Ulan-Ude for Barguzin Valley (probably need 3 nights)

-from Ulan-Ude, take 3 ˝ hour marshrutka (mini-bus) to Kyakhta, cross border, overnight Sukhbaatar

-travel bus or train to Darkhan, arrange taxi to Amarbayasgalant Monastery

-travel to Ulaan Baatar, stay 2 days

-travel to Dalanjargalan by local train, continue by jeep to Nartijn Chuluu, overnight

-return to Dalanjargalan and travel to Sainshand by road or train (overnight)

-visit Khamaryn Khiid, continue on night train to Zamyn-Uud

-cross border, continue by bus to Datong

-tour Datong and Yungang Caves

-train to Beijing

We did the reverse last summer from Irkutsk, booking tickets directly from russian rail online.

Squeeze in the circumbaikal railway, easily doable in a day from Ikrutsk if you stay in Listvyanka overnight.
Didnt go to Olkhon, so cant help there.
Next stop was Krasnoyarsk, without Stolby it was a waste.
Novosibirsk, arrived morning, departed evening, that was enough.
Ekatinerburg for a couple days, before moving onto Kazan, which by far was the most ineresting stop.
Stayed in Vladimir with a day trip to Suzdal before finishing in Moscow.

PM if u want more info.
