UK Embassy - time to queue for visa?
I'm off to the UK Russian Embassy this week to hand in my application for a tourist visa. I'm only submitting and have paid for my passport to be mailed back. Anyone been there recently that can tell me roughly how long they'll think i'll be waiting? I estimate to get there about 10am, just trying to figure out if I'll be in for a long wait and ought to bring a book

A co-worker of mine picked his up yesterday in London and he said the initial visit and wait were 90 minutes. He was nearly at the front of the line starting out that morning so get there early and as with all things Russia indeed have a good book with you. You just never know...

Thanks. I arrived about 10am during the week and there was actually no queue. I found the whole process very simple and efficient. Most impressive for me where the computer terminals where you could retrieve and edit your application (in case of mistakes). There are a fair few embassies that would gladly leave you waiting three hours only to send you home if you made a small error on your paperwork.
